Yankee Candle 2019 Countdown Calendar

The Yankee Candle 2019 Countdown Calendar smells like Christmas before you even open the box! I love using scented candles in my home any time of the year. As the holidays approach those festive scents bring back all kinds of warm memories and inspire me to plan and prep for the upcoming season. Our family holiday traditions are ever evolving. This year we have a new baby and a new daughter in law in the family, so we have much more to celebrate and more people to celebrate with!

Other than the candles being the same, this year’s Yankee Candle Countdown Calendar has a very different design from the one we reviewed last year. The 2019 version for the US is decorated with red berries on gold twigs, accented with gold design and lettering. It appears from their website that this is the holiday design for all of the Yankee Candle gift sets this year in the US. I did see on Amazon that they have 2 different Advent calendars available for the UK with very different designs.

The Yankee Candle 2019 Countdown Calendar opens up to twigs and berries with the numbered doors scattered around at random. This does add to the fun of trying to find the correct numbered door for each day! Inside each door is a scented candle except for Day 1, where you will find this year’s candle holder.

Just like last year, the doors are numbered in gold. They are perforated but there is no indentation to push them out, making them rather hard to get open without tearing the box unless you use a knife. It is good to know that the candles in each box are safely nestled inside styrofoam padding. You could probably drop the calendar without breakage.

This year’s Flickering Votive/Tea Light Candle Holder is decorated with a frosted forest and deer and has a silver lining inside. With a lit candle inside it becomes a serenely beautiful winter night scene on your mantle.

The Yankee Candle 2019 Countdown Calendar contains 24 candles, one for each day of Advent – twelve Samplers® votive candles and twelve scented tea light candles.

The Yankee Candle 2019 Countdown Calendar cost $40, just like last year, with the only difference being the box design. The 2018 design was so much more lush and impressive that it makes the 2019 design look like a rather plain afterthought. However, the candles have the same delightful holiday scents and at $1.60 each (including the candle holder) the price is not overly expensive. I liked the designs for the two UK Yankee Candle 2019 Countdown Calendars a bit better but I’m sure the candles were the same.
