Ulta 12 Days of Beauty 2018 Advent Calendar

If you are looking for a cute and inexpensive beauty-themed 2018 Advent calendar, the Ulta 12 Days of Beauty might be just what you need. The Ulta 12 Days of Beauty calendar is totally about cosmetics. The theme appears to be Holiday party shimmer. After you open all of the little boxes your eyes, cheeks, and lips will be ready to sparkle during frosty evenings celebrations!

The $18 price of Ulta’s 12 Days of Beauty is low enough that you could purchase one for yourself plus a few for gift giving. Ulta gives this calendar a $74 value. A search of Ulta’s website for pricing information turned up only one of the included beauty products but the value is certainly much more than the cost. Most – but not all – of the beauty products are sample size and your cost per item is only $1.50.

Positive thoughts

• The price was right for this Advent calendar. The only calendar item I found on Ulta’s website was the Glitter Eye Top Coat in “Put a Ring on It.” The cost was $9 (half the cost of the calendar) for .04 oz and the same one in the calendar was .09 oz, more than twice the size.
• Since we all have different lifestyles, ages, and skin tones it is difficult to please everyone with a collection of makeup. The colors included were mainly warm tone neutrals. Some were more glittery than others.
• You can pick out the ones you will use and gift the others.

 

Negative thoughts

• None of the products had a color name or number anywhere on the item itself or on the list written on the back of the box.
• Black eyeliner. Again. I don’t understand why almost every beauty box I receive has black eyeliner.
• The Chubby Eye Crayon was damaged with the tip flattened and the plastic cover cracked.
• Half of the products were a bit too over the top for my lifestyle.

 

I thought this was a great little beauty Advent calendar for someone looking for festive cosmetics to keep or gift. It contained a nice variety of make-up products for a low price per item. I will certainly use the neutral lipstick, the matte liquid lipstick, the highlighter and highlighting drops, the eyebrow pencil, and the shimmer blush.
