First Peek! Everything in the Try the World Italy box arrived in excellent condition with nothing crushed or broken. Looks very interesting and very Italian! And I love the organic packing materials! Yay!
The Try The World Italy box is filled with a good variety of different foods. The large fold-out product information card tells all about the items they chose.
And the Culture Guide contains lots more recipes and suggestions. Plus you can go the their website’s magazine for more! https://magazine.trytheworld.com. I really appreciate this as I usually need a little help finding the correct use for tasty but culturally different food items.
Terrigena – Mushroom Risotto Kit ($7.90)
I LOVE mushroom risotto and this kit is made with northern Italian arborio rice and natural seasonings. The directions are clear and concise and there is even a suggestion of what to do with the leftovers, if any!
La Pasta di Aldo – Egg Pappardelle ($7.90)
This egg pasta is made and hung by hand from just egg and flour. The texture is porous so it hold onto sauces well. It has a beautiful golden color, so different from machine-made pastas.
Giuliano Caffe – Vivace Ground Coffee ($8.40)
This is an artisanal blend of highly select coffees, named “Master of Taste” by Slow Food International. It is slow roasted in small batches to develop the best flavor.
Societa Agricola Acetomodena – Balsamic Vinegar ($5.76)
Aged in oak and chestnut barrels, this divine vinegar is perfect over fruit or salads.
Sabatino Tartufi – Truffle Zest ($2.63)
These little packets of truffle seasoning are great for one-time use. The company has been family owned since 1911 and they grow the truffles right on their own grounds.
Cascina San Cassiano – Pesto Sauce ($4.40)
Pesto sauce is a real family favorite! This sauce is made in a former Benedictine Monastery from locally grown ingredients in an eco-friendly factory. It doesn’t get much better!
Marabissi – Classic Amaretti ($6.90)
These sweet and tender little Almond cookies are classically Italian and made from Pugliesi almond flour instead of cheaper apricot kernels. The 3 cookies in the photo are all I had left after my husband “tried” them!
Sciara – Pistachio Cream ($5.87)
This pistachio cream is made in a small Italian farming town and goes well on breads and pastries. It pairs especially well with chocolate.
I calculated the value of the Try The World Italy box at approximately $49.76. This box was sent out to subscribers in September 2016. I don’t know why I was sent this box in January 2017 but I will still enjoy all the food items included. And I hope I receive the January 2017 Greece box!
My husband would love this. He is Italian.
What a neat way to try different foods from Italy for a great price.
Everything in the Italy box is appealing. You can make a meal out of what was in it!
This is so cool. I love that you can choose different boxes depending on your needs. This would be so much fun. Maybe have an Italian party to show off all the yummies 🙂
