Summer 2016 Walmart Beauty Box Review
Walmart has a beauty box subscription program that sends you a box of seasonal beauty essentials four times yearly – Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, for only the flat shipping cost of $5.00. These items are mainly (but not all) samples, are relevant to the season, and are chosen to fit your life stage.
The Homespun Chics paid for this subscription box. All opinions are 100% our own.
I initially subscribed to the Walmart Beauty Box late in this past spring season and ended up receiving a winter box instead of a spring one. They must have been out of spring boxes by that time. But for this, my second box, I was back on track and received the June summer box. Walmart does not include a product information card but their little $5 box is quite full of helpful item. So let’s peek into my summer 2016 Walmart Beauty Box!
Colgate Optic White Platinum Toothpaste – Full Size, 3 oz ($3.96)
This is “High Impact White” toothpaste, one of Colgate’s newer varieties.
Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer – sample size, 2 oz ($1.24)
This is a moisturizer “with nourishing monol oil” to apply to wet skin right after you get out of the shower.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths -Travel Size, 10 cloths ($4.42)
These disposable cloths are formulated for sensitive skin and remove dirt and makeup without irritation. They are fragrance free and pH balanced. I love having these on hand when it’s late and I just want to fall into bed but NOT with makeup on my face!
St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub – sample size, 1 oz ($.58)
This is a scrub that deeply exfoliates, is made with 100% natural exfoliants, paraben-free, and hypoallergenic. It smells really good, too.
Dove Advanced Care Skin Renew Antiperspirant/Deodorant – sample size, .5 oz ($.84)
This is a small sample size of antiperspirant/deodorant, perfect to throw in your weekend away bag.
Also included in my Summer 2016 Walmart Beauty Box were small, packet sized samples of Olay Regenerist Tone Perfecting Cream Moisturizer and Olay Regenerest Advanced Anti-Aging Moisturizer.
The Summer 2016 Walmart Beauty Box items came in at a little over $11, more than twice the cost of the box. It contained 1 full size item (the toothpaste), one travel size item and the rest were samples of various sizes. Keep in mind that different boxes were sent out to conform to people’s age range, so other subscribers received different things. But I was pleased with my $5 box and will use everything it contained. And for the price paid I thought it was a very good value! Did you receive a Summer 2016 Walmart Beauty Box? If so, what was in your box?
Oooh Im excited for mine to arrive!! Im a little bummed about the duplicates though!! I got the toothpaste, apricot scrub and deodorant in my last one!
I had 3 duplicates in my box this time and I am thinking of cancelling. 1 I can understand but not 3 from the last box….
Ooh, you lucked out! Or maybe, I un-lucked out. I ordered the previous Walmart box, and was… Well, I wasn’t really expecting much per se, but my reaction was still “…Really..?” I think I got four items (MAYBE five), one of which was shampoo for brunettes. (How dare they! do they not KNOW me!? :p ) I ended up gifting everything away, except for some toothpaste.
I bought that box because I had a pre-paid debit card worth $5, and it was about to expire. So, there we go.
While it looks like you got a nice selection of products, for me it was a good example of subscription boxes being hit-or-miss.
(And those Cetaphil Cleansing Cloths retail at $4.42? Sheesh!)
Thank you for the review– as per usual, it was thorough and lovely.
