Earl Grey Tea for Keurig K-Cup Brewers
Review
I have had the pleasure of visiting London several times in past years and just one sip of Earl Grey tea has the power to put me right back in the city of double decker buses and dainty tea houses with their biscuits and scones. Earl Grey tea is black tea with the distinctive aroma and flavor of added bergamot, a fragrant Mediterranean citrus fruit. This famous tea is named for Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey (1764-1845) who legend has it brought the tea recipe to England on his return from a trip to China in the 1830s. The bergamot flavor was then used in the tea on his family estate to offset the lime in their local water when they entertained and subsequently became widely popular from that time on.
Earl Grey tea is very versatile and can be enjoyed plain, with milk and sugar, and as an iced tea. It is also historically used for flavoring in cakes and other baked goods as well as in savory sauces. Black tea does have caffeine but not as much as in coffee. The bergamot extract has a calming effect and can help boost your mood. So an afternoon or after dinner cup of Earl Grey tea has a stress relieving effect while providing you with the same focus as coffee – but it won’t keep you up all night.
Stash Tea uses highest quality blended black tea and 100% bergamot oil for their Earl Grey tea. They blend the ingredients in the perfect proportions to allow you to enjoy the delightful tea flavor as well as the distinct citrus of the bergamot oil. The result is a tasty and comforting cup of tea that lets me relax and daydream of that wonderfully historic city that I loved visiting!
Stash teas are all made with 100% natural ingredients and their single-serve cups are Keurig compatible (including the 2.0 K-Cup brewers.)
