St. Patrick’s Day Chocolate Dipped Oreos
St. Patrick’s Day Chocolate Dipped Oreos
We consider Oreos to be the cookie equivalent of crack here in our house – can’t put them down, want more, get a bigger bag next time… So how do you improve on perfection? How about Oreos dipped in chocolate?
Obviously you could do this to your Oreos for any occasion – red/green/white for Christmas, orange/dark brown/purple for Halloween, pastels for Easter. Quick, easy, no baking skills required, and involves Oreos – my kind of dessert!
Ingredients:
- A bag of Oreos
- A bag of candy melts. (I used Ghirardelli white melting wafers.)
- Food coloring (I used Wilton Kelly Green.)
- Candy sprinkles or other color appropriate decorations
- Wax paper or parchment paper
Directions:
Melt your candy melts by heating in a bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each heating session.
Color your candy melts with your food coloring if desired.
Dip your Oreos into the melted candy and place on wax paper or parchment paper to dry – about 20 minutes. Decorate with sprinkles while still wet. I found that I could get both sides if I placed some sprinkles on the parchment paper, then placed the wet cookie on top of the sprinkles, then decorated the side facing up.
How easy-peasy was that!!
Makes me really wish I was down in Florida with you guys right now! YUM!!
I wish you were!!! And the cookies were To Die For!!
