We received our Spring 2016 Konenkii box just before Easter, a time of the year when spring flowers and pastels are just around the corner! I was so excited to open the box and was ever so pleased when each little item was discovered within the grass green packing shreds. Perfect presentation! And I saw right away that there was a fold out product information sheet – an addition that tells me of the care and attention to detail that goes into a great subscription box! There was also a Welcome to Konenkii card that lets you know about some of the philosophy behind this fabulous box.

Posh Adult Coloring Book: Happy Doodles for Fun & Relaxation by Flora Chang ($12.99)

Newly published, folk-artsy and fun! I am loving the appearance of adult coloring books on the book scene and so I was thrilled to see one in this spring box. The pages are filled with cheerful images to color just the way it looks perfect to you! Flowers, animals, birds, people, skulls and just randomness are there for the choosing!

Colored Pencils Set of 12 ($7)

These come recommended by the coloring book artist so you know they are going to be good! I love that there are shades here – two blues, two greens, pink as well as red, peach as well as orange. Helps your creativity flow!

Seattle Chocolate Bars – Salted Almond & Milk Chocolate 2.5 oz each ($7 each)

2 truffle bars?? Those Konenkii ladies know the way directly to my heart! And these are hefty bars, too! One is dark chocolate with salted almond and the other melt-in-your mouth milk chocolate…

Organic Flower Bombs -5 in package ($8)

What says SPRING!!!! more than seeds to plant? These colorful flower bombs contain seeds to grow Catchfly, Snapdragon, White Yarrow, Shirley Poppy, Red Prairie Coneflower, and Sweet Alyssum. And it’s time! So I took these little gems out to the front of my house and into the ground they went, right under the art flowers that stand out there all winter to remind us that the real flowers will be here soon!

Shamballa Bracelet ($20)

Such a beautiful bracelet! This one has pink shimmery beads and strong shiny onyx ones held together with a knotted black cord. Pink beads on a Shamballa bracelet mean eternal love, both in our minds and for the universe as a whole. The black beads denote strength and authority. It is believed that the beads in your Shamballa bracelet can help lead you toward harmony, fulfillment, tranquility & mindfulness.

Naiad Soap Arts Whipped Soap Sugar Scrub in Cherry Blossom 2.5 oz ($4)

How can you not love a Cherry Blossom whipped soap sugar scrub?? This smells so good, looks so delicate and pretty and it works well, too! It has very fine sugar, not the heavy granular ones often inside sugar scrubs, moisturizers and lathers up well to polish and soften your skin. It is great for all skin types and you can use it daily.

Green Tea Konjac Sponge ($10)

This sponge is hard when dry but becomes soft when wet. Made from the fibers of the Konnuaku tuber, it is an Asian beauty sponge with green tea added for its antioxidant properties. The green tea extract protects the skin from ageing plus softens and plumps to improve elasticity. I had never seen or heard of this sponge but gave it a try – it was soft against my skin and made my face feel clean. I am always for expanding my awareness of new things so here we go – it is installed in my bathroom.

Spirit of Spring Recipes (4 cards) ($2)

These are 4 recipe cards to encourage you to “Eat a Rainbow” or, in other words, eat your fruits and veggies! I received:

• Sunny Lemon Squares
• Pizza Primavera
• Spring Has Sprung Salmon Rolls        and
• Spring Fruit Fling

All of the recipes look delicious and easy to make. Plus good for you, too! I made the Sunny Lemon Squares and they turned out great. My husband gave me “that look” when I mentioned that they are gluten free (my bad!) but after eating 2 or 3 pieces, just to be sure, he gave them a big thumbs up!

What did I think of the Spring 2016 Konenkii box? I loved it! You really don’t have to be over 40 to love it, too! And all of the products in this box would make wonderful gifts if you did not want to keep them for yourself. I calculated a price of approximately $80 for the items if you purchased them separately, a really great value for the cost of the box.
