September 2016 Covet Crate “Girl Boss”
Theme: But First, Tea.
Mmm, tea! I find myself migrating more toward tea in the afternoons and evenings now. I once was able to handle coffee any time of day (or night) without feeling jittery or spastic — but not so much anymore. A lovely cup of black or green tea gives me just enough caffeine to last until bedtime without making me feel crazy! Needless to say, I was thrilled to see this month’s theme was all about tea! Yay!
Girl Boss Box – $54.95
A girl boss has a fresh perspective on her industry. She takes her career seriously without being too serious. Fun colors and cute patterns inspire her to grow and succeed in her career.
Lady Boss Box – $94.95
A lady boss has experience in her industry. She is at the top of her game and is looked up to by her peers. Neutrals and bold, monochromatic colors make her feel in control of life and work.

First peek!
All of the items were carefully packed to ensure nothing was damaged during shipping. 🙂
The front cover features Penelope Barker who, in 1774, wrote a public statement to boycott British tea, cloth, and other goods. Shortly after the Boston Tea Party, she organized an all-female “tea party” in Edenton where she and fifty other women signed the declaration before sending it to a London newspaper. This was the first boycott of British goods by women in the colonies and is even expressed as the first political activism by women in the colonies. What a role model!
Covet Magazine also includes a two-page spread of the chosen Woman of the Month along with full-page descriptions of the companies and products featured in this month’s box!
The Tea Spot Steep & Go Cold Brew Tea Bottle (20 oz – Black) | $12.95
The Steep & Go Cold Brew Bottle is definitely something I will be trying out soon! I have honestly never brewed my own cold tea before (unless you count Sun Tea…) and am excited to have a coffee-alternative to enjoy after my lunch break run!
The bottle feels pretty sturdy and comes with a screw-on filter sports cap. How neat! I’m looking forward to trying this out and was happy to read that cold brewed tea doesn’t get bitter or oversteeped. Woohoo!
Teema Teas Tea Gift Pack | $14.00
The next item I pulled out was this burlap-type envelope tied with twine. I wasn’t sure what was inside, but already loved the look and feel of this little gift!
Inside the hand-made envelope (made of sustainable abaca fibers) were four single serving taster pouches of Teema Tea!!! The presentation was gorgeous and I’m having a hard time opening up the individual pouches to drink. Teema Teas donates 10% of their profits to help empower and uplift economically disadvantaged women. Awesome, right?
Half of our charitable give-back goes straight back to your farmer, to the women of the plantation that crafted the tea you might be sipping right now. These monies establish a fund that will be democratically directed by the workers themselves…
The other half of our NEW LEAF donations go to Grameen America, the leading microfinance organization in the United States… Founded by Nobel Peace Prize ricipient Muhammad Yunus, Grameen America is dedicated to helping women who live in poverty build small businesses to create better lives for their families.
-Teema Teas
I am totally planning on washing my Steep & Go bottle tonight and I will be trying out the Peppermint Green Tea tomorrow after my run! I absolutely will be supporting Teema Teas any chance I can afford. This is such a beautiful organization with gorgeous, natural packaging and (hopefully) delicious teas!
The Jane Soap Company Vanilla Chai Tea Soap (Small) | $3.50
This soap smells DELICIOUS. I’m kind of obsessed with chai to the point where I was drinking it every day for months on end. This smells exactly like chai tea to the point where Little G tried (several times) to take a bite out of it!
Ingredients: olive oil, coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, distilled water, chai tea, mango butter, canola oil, castor oil, pure vanilla, and Vitamin E.
The Jane Co. has a wide variety of old fashioned soaps available in their Etsy shop, ALL without artificial fragrances, essential oils, dyes or colorants of any kind. I really like how you can order a small bar for only $3.50 to test it out before committing to a larger bar for $6.00!
Golden Jacks Salted Peanut & Milk Chocolate Flapjack | $3.00
Okay, yes, my little flapjack looked like it traveled through hell to get to me, however this little nugget of sweetness was absolutely amazing. I made the mistake of allowing Little G to help me taste-test the Golden-Jack. He almost ate the entire bar before I could get a second bite in! We received the salted peanut and milk chocolate flapjack that tasted exactly as it was described on the package, “a rich buttery, chewy, oat treat.” The bar measured 2.5″ x 1.5″ and was plenty big for both Little G and I to enjoy as it is incredibly rich. A little goes a long way and this special treat is well worth its $3.00 price tag!
Southern Hospitality “Georgia Peach” Sweet Tea Foot Soak | $5.00
“You’re on your feet a lot. So take a load off darlin’! Our Sweet Teas are just what you need to soothe achy feet after a hard day’s work. It also comes in 12 wonderful scents to awaken the senses.”
As soon as I told mom what I received in this month’s Covet Crate, she instantly called dibs on this sweet tea foot soak. Upon opening, the foot soak looks like an oversized tea bag! Too cute.
The instructions are simple and the product has GREAT reviews online! Mom is so lucky to have such an amazing, generous, loving daughter like me… I’m so tempted to open this sucker up right now and get my spa-time on! Good news is each foot soak only costs $5, so I can easily purchase one for myself and we can have an in-home girl spa day when she gets back!
Garance Doré Leopard Notebook Set | $15.00
I just spent the last 30 minutes exploring Garance Doré’s blog, daydreaming about being a high-fashion blogger, illustrator, and photographer… Garance is really something else! Her blog is both inspiring and stunning to view. I highly recommend checking her out if you can spare an hour to get lost in her blog.
This set is printed by Rifle Paper Co. and features two leopard-inspired notebooks. The first one is a pale pink notebook featuring one of Garance’s illustrations that first appeared on her blog in 2012.
The second notebook has a matte black finish with gold foil leopard spots. Both notebooks were made in the USA and contain 64 blank pages each. The notebooks measure 5.75″ x 8.25″. I’m going to do my very best not to squirrel these notebooks away. I have an abundance of pens and notebooks that have never been used, so I might consider doing a fancy giveaway featuring this set!
Do you love this set as much as I do?!
Let me know in the comments if you’d like a chance to win this notebook set, maybe paired with some fancy pens and other gorgeous office goodies! Help me decide whether or not I should share my bounty!
Secrets of Six-Figure Women by Barbara Stanny | $8.42
I have a STACK of books that I am dying to read, however this has made it to the top of the pile. Secrets of Six-Figure Women could not have come at a better time, as I am trying to work up the courage to get out of my “comfort zone” and explore new options in my professional life. It’s a scary thing and I tend to way undersell myself, though I know deep down that I am extremely capable and have been an invaluable asset everywhere I have worked.
I cannot wait to read about the 150+ women who were interviewed in this book and learn the seven key strategies for upping earnings that Barbara has identified in this book. The book is available on Amazon for a great price and has received 4.5 stars based on 114 customer reviews! I seriously cannot wait to dig in.
In Conclusion
September 2016 Covet Crate “Girl Boss” Total Value: $61.87
The September 2016 Covet Crate box was a huge home run for me personally. I love absolutely every single item I received and really enjoyed learning about the companies that were featured.
Not only are the products fantastic, but they’re genuinely items that I am considering purchasing on my own! There’s a pretty great chance I will be taking advantage of the included coupon to grab a few more of those delicious Golden Jacks flapjacks to share with Little G. 🙂 I have high hopes for Barbara Stanny’s book and can’t wait to cold steep the Teema Tea in my new Steep & Go bottle!
