Seoul Snacks is a new snack subscription box company based out of Irvine, California that sends out a monthly box of Korean snacks and treats. There are three sizes available: mini box (10 different snacks), date box (10 different snacks – 2 of each), and family box (15+ different snacks). Box contents may vary slightly from month to month, but all contain a mix of savory and sweet treats.
The Homespun Chics received this subscription box for review. All opinions are 100% our own.
Seoul Snacks Mini Box
I discovered Seoul Snacks via Instagram (where else?) and knew I needed to check out this snack box! I am a serial snacker and have to have something to munch on when hunger strikes. I tend to favor savory snacks over sweet (i.e. chips, cashews, beef jerky), though a little sweet treat always makes the day a teensy bit better! Jonathan and Little G are all about the sweet snacks, by the way. They can’t get enough! Anyway, I was pretty darn confident that I found a perfect box for our little family to try out. We have been having so much fun introducing Little G to his Korean heritage and really hope to continue expanding his mind and palate in fun new ways as he grows. Korean snacks seem like an obvious choice! 🙂

First peek! I can honestly say I have never seen these snacks in stores around my area, so I was super excited. One thing I feel could be helpful is an information sheet. I would love to see a little explanation on the different types of snacks included in each box and why they were selected.
Important Note: The Seoul Snacks website states that they cannot cater to any known food allergies at this time. They recommend you refrain from ordering if you have any allergies. The site also says, “In the future we will provide custom boxes and state the ingredients.” There’s still hope, my allergic friends!
Mizzi Shrimp Chips
Alright, remember how I warned you about the food allergy thing? Yup, I’m totally allergic to shrimp. I developed the allergy completely at random in college and was devastated. Why, cruel world? I used to eat shrimp chips (more like crispy crinkle-fry things) all the time as a kid and absolutely loved them. I’m sure these are pretty darn tasty, but I don’t feel like being shot in the leg with my Epi-Pen, so I shall refrain. I will find them a happy home in someone else’s belly.
Chocolate Cream Biscuits
These little cookies are super chocolatey with sweet, vanilla cream. Yes, the cookie may look like an Oreo, but it certainly does not act like one. (I tried twisting the cookies apart to no avail.) Jonathan is really going to love these cookies. They are quite good, but a tad too sweet for me. I’m weird like that, I know.
Milkita Milkshake Hard Candies
I was curious to see what these looked like, and now I know. They smell really good! So far I’ve only had the strawberry one and it is ridiculously yummy. How can a hard candy taste so creamy? I’m so glad I only received two because I’d eat an entire bag of them… and it would not be pretty.
Lotte Pepero Chocolate Dipped Cookie Sticks
Hmm……. Do these remind you of anything? *cough cough* Pocky?! *cough* I love chocolate dipped cookie sticks, regardless of the name or country of origin! I don’t discriminate… I snuck downstairs after taking pictures and made Jonathan give one to Little G while he was playing in the bath (Little G, that is, not Jonathan). Watching him eat the Pepero stick was the cutest thing ever! Little G took little bitty baby bites, crunching and savoring every last little morsel until only the cookie stick remained. Then he even bit that into two bites! I’m pretty sure he has already laid claim to the rest of the pack… at least that’s what I assume since I heard the shrillest toddler shriek ever. (“Want moooooore, daddy!”) I ran back upstairs to finish editing photos and let Jonathan deal with the consequences of my actions…
Orion Choco-Pie
Wow, we have a ton of parallels to American food here, eh? This is the Korean take on the Moon Pie. So I totally Wikipedia’d it (is that a word?) and apparently someone from a Korean company called Tongyang Confectionery visited a Georgia hotel in 1973, discovered the magic of the moon pie, went back home and created a Korean version lovingly dubbed the “Orion Choco-Pie”. The pie was so successful that Tongyang Confectionery renamed themselves to Orion Confectionery. Choco pies are apparently really popular in Korea and a ton of other companies have been copying the original copycat (Orion/Tongyang) by releasing their own versions of the choco pie. Jonathan has laid claim to this moon pie-ish Korean snack. Marshmallows are kind of his thing, which is excellent because I only like them when they’re completely burnt on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside.
Poteau Cheese Crackers
These Ritz-type cracker sandwiches are pretty tasty. The cheese-flavored filling is slightly sweet and kind of fluffy, but the crackers are crumbly and don’t hold up very well. All in all, I will definitely eat these sandwich crackers but would be okay without them in my life.
Lotte Cream Filled Cake
I have no idea what this is, honestly, but I think it’s perhaps a chocolate? version of the Lotte custard cakes? The picture on the package makes it look like the filling is thick and creamy, but it’s actually kind of dry and oily. I won’t knock it ’til I try it, but from the outside it reminds me of a Little Debbie cake. The cake itself is soft and moist. I want Jonathan to try this one for me. I like to think I have an open mind, but not knowing what is in the ingredients list makes me a little wary.
Natural Story White & Choco Heim
I saved the best for last. I received two packages of delicious wafer cookie things that are filled with sweet, delicious yumminess in the form of white cream & hazelnuts and choco cream & hazelnuts. My favorite is the white cream, for what it’s worth. These are totally my kind of sweet snack; not too sweet and just enough crunch to be satisfying. I don’t think I’ll share these…
My Thoughts
I really enjoyed my Seoul Snacks mini box and think it could easily be a monthly snack box for anyone interested in sampling different Korean snacks. The mini box had plenty of goodies for our little family and I am satisfied with the variation and individual snack sizes. I’m not even bummed that we received the shrimp chips because my younger, less allergic me would be ALL over those things and I feel the bag was an excellent inclusion in a Korean snack box.
I love that all of the items in my box absolutely cannot be found where I live. It’s really fun getting to try completely new snacks and I am glad that we each had our own favorites to hoard from each other. The mini box was a perfect fit for us, but I can definitely see how the date box and family box would be better for different situations!
Don’t forget to take advantage of the awesome COUPON CODES and try this box for yourself! Remember that the coupons do not combine so choose wisely, my friends.

Milkshake hard candies…Chocopies…cookies galore! I’m a snacker, too, and so is my family. This box looks great. Would love to try all of those. I don’t have allergies but I do hope they have options for them soon.
Wow, a lot of different items. It’s neat to try snacks from other countries!
These snacks look so good! I love trying new things.
These snacks look yummy! I love chocolate dipped cookie sticks!
Oh that chocopie!! I am ALL over that lol!! I have never tried shrimp crackers though?!!? Yummy? (before your allergies of course 😉 )
This looks like an interesting subscription. I love Asian food.
This is fun way to experience another cuisine – not the fancy restaurant stuff, but snacks! This is so cool!
