October 2016 Target Beauty Box Review
Target offers a popular, inexpensive beauty box every month that always sells out fast. The box is a one time purchase, not a monthly subscription box. The cost is $7 with free shipping.
The Homespun Chics paid for this subscription box. All opinions are 100% our own. This post contains affiliate links.
The theme of the October 2016 Target Beauty Box is
autumn’s A_LIST
“Must-haves. Can’t-live-withouts. Obsessions.”
I was away on vacation for quite a while and came home to a huge pile of review boxes waiting for me, so it seems like I have done back-to-back Target boxes! I love these boxes and look forward to each month’s new contents – and Target sends full size items as well as samples. It is a great way to try out new beauty and skin care products. Plus each month there is a $3 off $15 beauty purchase coupon attached to the product information card!
Eden BodyWorks – Peppermint Tea Tree Shampoo sample size 2 oz ($1.75)
This is a natural shampoo with a really pepperminty scent designed to cleanse and clarify. It is sulfate and paraben free. This shampoo removes dirt and build up in your hair without harsh chemicals or detergents plus helps decrease dry scalp itching.
Eden BodyWorks – Peppermint Tea Tree Conditioner sample size 2 oz ($1.75)
This is a natural conditioner and it also has a very pepperminty scent. It is sulfate and paraben free and designed to moisturize and detangle your hair. It has organic aloe and chamomile to condition the hair while peppermint and tea tree essential oils make it more manageable.
Derma e – Hydrating Day Creme sample size .5 oz ($3.78)
This is a hydrating day creme to moisturize and plump your skin while reducing the look of fine lines. It contains hyaluronic acid to rehydrate, antioxidants green tea and Vitamins C & E, plus soothing aloe – all combined to give softer, smoother, younger-looking skin. Sounds like staying hydrated and using this face cream will keep the winter skin at bay this year!
Jergens – Wet Skin Moisturizer sample size 2 oz ($1.25)
Jergens has been around forever, so they know how to make skin care products. This is a moisturizer to use after you get out of the bath or shower while your skin is still wet. It contains coconut oil and has a very tropical coconut scent. And you don’t have to rinse it off, either – just dry off with your towel and you are soft and done!
ChapStick – Total Hydration Moisture + Tint Full Size .12 oz ($4.99)
I am so glad to see the ChapStick has added a tinted lip balm to its products! ChapStick is the perfect balm to moisturize lips and this one has rosehips and jojoba oils to instantly sooth and moisturize – plus now it also enhances your natural lip color. I will be using the heck out of this over the winter!! The one I received was Coral Blush, but it also comes in Sweet Peach, Rose Petal, and Merlot.
wet n wild – Pro Line Graphic Marker Eyeliner in Jetliner Black Full Size .08 oz ($3.99)
This is an eyeliner with a soft, angled marker tip that gives you full control so you can create a variety of graphic looks. It dries quickly, doesn’t smudge, and is longwearing.
Laneige – BB Cushion Foundation sample
This was a very interesting sample of a foundation that provides color correction and brightening as well as a SPF 50+ broad spectrum sunscreen. The sample provided a little puff plus 3 different colors of foundation in little sponges. You press the puff into the moistened foundation sponge and then apply it onto your face with the puff. The foundation spreads easily and you don’t have a big clump of makeup to try to spread out evenly. The full size sells at Target for $34, so I can see why they sent out a sample to try out first!
The retail value of the products in the October 2016 Target Beauty Box came to roughly $17.51, so once again a good value for the $7 price of the box. I will use everything except perhaps the black eyeliner and was really fascinated by the Laneige foundation sample, which I might go ahead and purchase next time I am heading to FL (where you are in the sun a lot whether you like it or not!)
Did you get a Target box this month? What did you think?
Hi Ladies(Joanne and Sarah Are you sure that I don’t Pay $7 00 each month for that target beauty box because my friend said she’s sure it’s $84.00 a year for 12 months ..can you let me know on my email …please …Sincerely Mary Harding
I look forward to your unboxings since I found out on your blog that Target and Walmart have them! I think this is a really good deal because the Laneige cushion is on the expensive side and where else would you be able to get a sample like this.
That looks like an awesome haul. Do you see what will be in the box ahead of time or is just a surprise?
Target shows you what will be in your box before you purchase.
