October 2016 PUR Minerals Mystery Bag Review
PUR Minerals occasionally offers a Mystery Grab Bag for $15 with free shipping. These bags are generally for discontinued products, limit 2 per person while supplies last, with all sales final. You can check online at PurCosmetics.com for their products and sales.
The Homespun Chics paid for this product. All opinions are 100% our own.
The October 2016 PUR Minerals Mystery Bag contained 5 full-size items.
PUR and Simple Chisel Makeup Brush ($23)
This is a soft stipple natural hair makeup brush designed especially for applying their mineral makeup but would work well with blush or loose powder. It does tend to shed but it is soft on my face and I do use loose powder frequently.
Universal Pencil in Natural ($17)
This is a 3-in-1 self-sharpening pencil in a natural brown tone. Use it for eyeliner, lipliner, and to define your brows. The pencil has a circular brush at the other end to smooth out your brows and the long-lasting color is smudge-proof.
Mineral Eye Defining Pencil in Ash ($10)
This is an eyeliner pencil in a dark gray color. It is self-sharpening but does not have a smudger. I have never used a gray eyeliner in my makeup routine but it might work really well with blue outfits. And I like it!
PUR Intensity Gel Eyeliner in Coffee Quartz ($16.15)
This one was a bust. The Coffee Quartz color is a very nice brown and you apply it with a brush. It is supposed to be creamy and go on smoothly. Mine was all dried out and hard – and from reading a lot of reviews, apparently that was the case for a lot of people who ordered this mystery bag.
Pout Plumping Lip Gloss in Copper Canyon ($16)
This is glossy, vitamin-infused lip gloss designed to plump your lips. It contains emollients to nourish, heal, and protect chapped areas. Copper Canyon is a warm golden copper bronze color with shimmer.
The RV of the cosmetics in the October 2016 PUR Minerals Mystery Bag came to roughly $82.15. All of the products were discontinued and out of stock at PUR Minerals and other beauty supply sites. The gel eyeliner was bad and the lip gloss not my style, but even with those two items off the table it was still a good deal for $15 – less than the cost of the brush alone. So this is one of those purchases that you have to just hope for the best if you choose to participate!
Have you purchased a PUR Minerals mystery bag? How was your experience?
Another great un-boxing, or in this case, un-bagging. I think more cosmetics companies should do this. It’s a win-win!
Wow!! Such a great deal!! I adore that lip color!! Perfect for Fall!!
