North Carolina Style Pulled Pork
Delicious pulled pork barbecue doesn’t have to be difficult or come from a restaurant! And you don’t have to live here in the South to be proficient in serving up a plate of mouth-watering food that will be beloved by all (except non-meat eaters)! There are tons of pulled pork barbecue recipes out there. This one is your basic pulled pork, cooked low and slow in your crockpot until you can’t stand not to open the lid and start eating!
North Carolina Style Pulled Pork
Ingredients
- 2 lb pork shoulder roast
- 3 garlic cloves
- salt & pepper
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
Instructions

Preheat the slow cooker

Cut garlic cloves into thin slices, insert at random intervals into the pork roast using a knife to poke the holes.

Season the roast with salt and pepper, place into the heated slow cooker.

Mix remaining ingredients, pour over roast in slow cooker.

Cook on low for 8 hours. Then remove roast, cut into several pieces, and shred the meat.

Return the shredded meat to the slow cooker and cook for another 1 hour.
