My Texas Market Nov. 2015 Subscription Box Review
I love to try new foods like some others love buying new shoes. So when I heard about My Texas Market subscription box I just had to order it to explore the Texas goodness inside! The cost is not insubstantial at $35.00/month + shipping but they have some great locally made artisan foodie and other items. Each box contains 4 to 6 handcrafted products plus you can order through their Online Market to get more or to sample items not included in the monthly box.
The November 2015 box contained 6 items “inspired by Thanksgiving traditions and fall festivities.” It was a wonderful box of goodies! And the icing on this Lone Star cake was that My Texas Market donated 10% of this month’s box profits to the Houston Food Bank!!
So here’s the breakdown:
Texas Apple Butter from Garden Dreams Houston $6.00
This is made with Texas apples, apple cider, Texas local honey, lemon juice and spices. No high fructose corn syrup here! Chemical free and small batch made. It appears to be a 4 oz jar.
Cranopeno Jelly from Garden Dreams Houston $6.00
What? Cranopeno? Well, this is a mixture of cranberry sauce and jalapeno jelly from locally grown, pesticide free sources. Have not tried it but I think it will go well at the Christmas table over cream cheese with some good crackers! It appears to be a 4 oz jar.
Native Texas Pecans, Family Crispy Recipe from The Pecan Shop (4 oz) $7.00
These pecans are wild harvested and certified pesticide free, sustainably grown on a family owned Texas farm. And this is a pecan time of year! We make pecan pies, pecan granola and spiced pecans during each holiday season at our house so I know this bag of pecans will be used for a recipe or just eaten right out of the bag!
Pumpkin Spice Brown Sugar Scrub from From Scratch Farm (8 oz) $10.00
For ultimate exfoliation and moisturizing, this smells wonderful and I will try not to eat it! Made with all natural ingredients on a Texas family farm.
Pumkin Souffle Candle from The Tiny Collection $11.00
This smells SO GOOD!! It is an all natural soy candle poured in small batches into reuseable tin cans, made in Dallas. This company never uses products that have been tested on animals and donates a portion of each candle sale to the ASPCA. My kind of company!
Vanilla Chai Lip Gloss Tin from Benjamin Soap Company $6.00
This is a sweet little lip gloss in an easy open tin, smells great and is made from great nutrients like organic coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax and almond oil. Contains no artificial colors, preservatives or chemical additives.
I loved every item! The concept is very suited to my personal ethos. The choices were close enough to have been made with my own advice, if they had somehow decided to give me a call to ask what I wanted them to send. It is not a bargain and the price with shipping is right around what you would pay for these items in a shop. So you have to decide if this is right for you but I am glad I ordered the My Texas Market box!
The Homespun Chics paid for this subscription. All opinions are 100% our own.
I would also rather try new foods than new shoes. This looks like a great box.
I bet that candle smells awesome!
