May 2016 Peaches and Petals

Hey there, May! We are already halfway through the month and I’m still thinking that the month just got started! Whoa. This month’s Peaches and Petals box is huge! I couldn’t wait to open this sucker up and see what was inside.

🙂 Peaches & Petals is NOW SHIPPING to ALASKA and HAWAII!!

First peek in this goliath box and I found a sweet note explaining the reason for the non-traditional packaging. 🙂
The information card is a high-gloss postcard which briefly details the items inside. The last item listed is a “May Box Surprise!” I like it.
This month’s subscriber giveaway is a Fujifilm Instax 8 Mini Instant Camera! Looks like FUN! I am loving these high-value giveaway prizes and think it’s great that Peaches & Petals can add another dimension to the box. Does anyone else reminisce of their old Polaroid? I was pretty much the coolest kid on the block with my camera, but man was that film expensive!
Party Tasting Spoon Set (6 Piece) | $15.45
Of all the kitchen gadgets and doodads I have acquired over the years, I have never owned a little tasting spoon set! This is so cute and perfect for entertaining!
This set is ceramic and looks really pretty out of the box! The spoons each have a nice wide, shallow base that will hold a decent size hors d’oeurve and I love the rounded square tray as well. I am thinking this will come in handy for an upcoming family get-together and for Little G’s 3rd birthday that’ll go down in July! (My baby is getting too big!)
Small Melamine Cutting Board | $5.00?
This is a very glossy, smooth melamine cutting board that would probably look really nice on a table adorned with petit fours or citrus tarts. I love the pattern and colors, but would not trust myself to cut anything round on this little guy since I would probably slip and cut myself. My dad always says, “and that’s why we didn’t call you Grace.”
Funny IMproper Greeting Beverage Napkin (Hydrated) | $8.58
These are silly and cute, but not quite my style. I am notorious for pulling out Christmas napkins at Easter, birthday napkins at Thanksgiving… you get the drill. Anyway, these cocktail napkins WILL be used at some point I’m sure of it. (Or we can include them in a giveaway package!) Something I’d love to mention here is that these napkins are made in the good ol’ USA! 🙂
K&Company Chalkboard Pennant Kit | $9.40
This is SUCH a cool idea and would do well for many different types of parties! I can’t decide whether or not to hold onto them for myself or offer them up to one of Jonathan’s good buddies who is getting married in August. I know his fiancee is planning a rustic wedding and, as always, is finding out how expensive weddings can be (what a racket!). She has talked to me about a lot of Pinterest-inspired DIYs and I’m thinking of being the good samaritan and seeing if she would be able to use this kit!
I love that the pennants have patterns on one side and the chalkboard on the other!
K&Company Chalkboard Party Arrow Kit | $5.58
Okay, seriously. Peaches and Petals is trying to tell me that I need to get my butt in action and help this sweet girl out with her DIY rustic wedding! I’m not sure if she has an interest, but these arrows are totally adorable, come with pre-written rub-on transfers and also come in three different styles of arrows (two different border designs OR blank on the back). I’m totally offering these up to her!
Best part is that if she doesn’t want them, I’M going to use them for Little G’s next bday bash! (I kind of go a tiny bit nuts for his birthday parties…)
K&Company Studio 112 Paper Medallions | $5.00?
I am not giving these up. Not at all. These are going to be worked into Little G’s 3rd birthday party somehow. Look how bright and fun! I just need to figure out a stable way to keep the medallions on the wall temporarily without them falling down during the party or having them rip the paint (and drywall) off the walls when removing them. Can you tell I’ve had bad luck with this in the past??
Charades In-A-Box: Celebrity Edition | $4.99
This looks like a fun party game!
I think I’m going to take this to my best friend’s house to play while we are down in Durham visiting next month! Amanda and Jon LOVE playing board games and this is right up their alley! Let the hilarity ensue…
Set of 20 Paper Party Straws | $12.99
This was my May Box Surprise! I really like these biodegradable paper party straws! The little cardstock mini cards are silly and are pretty much perfect for any adult gathering. Though it’s going to be really awesome when I have Little G drinking his fruit juice out in public using the “It’s 5 o’clock somewhere” straw. Love these!
My Thoughts
May 2016 Peaches & Petals Total Value: ~$66.99
What a fun social-gathering-type box! I felt like Peaches & Petals completely adhered to this month’s theme and am extremely pleased with what I have received!… Although after going through the box, it made me realize that I no longer throw parties at my house with actual adults attending to just, you know, hang out. Whoa. It’s been about 4 years since I’ve done that. Adulting sucks sometimes. Anyway, I am happy to have many items I can use and offer up to friends as well. The only item I am not 100% happy about is the melamine cutting board and it has absolutely nothing to do with the board itself. It’s not you, it’s me. I just don’t want to slip and cut myself with my knife… again.
And don’t forget to sign up for the June box (theme spoiler below)! If you don’t have a subscription yet, try using one of these coupon codes: PEACH-JUNE50, PEACH-JUNE25, or PEACH-JUNE10 to get a great discount on your first box! ?
