June Spoilers!!!
*** Hurry & order by JUNE 10th to get this month’s box!! ***
May 2016 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome
You may not be able to tell by the picture, but the May box was HUGE! I was crossing my fingers that I got a SUPER box because this month’s big prize was an iRobot Roomba vacuum!!
This is pretty much the best invention ever. My mom and my brother both have a Roomba and LOVE them. I’ve heard that the Roomba doesn’t actually replace vacuuming altogether, but helps maintain the dust, pet hair, and random crumbs throughout the day… plus it makes for great entertainment watching the cats run away from it!
First peek in the box! This thing is packed FULL, but unfortunately I did not spot a Roomba… oh well! 🙂
I received two sheets of paper in the May box. The first sheet provided an awesome subscriber-only 20% off coupon code to be used on That Daily Deal’s sister site, 13Deals.com. I could get lost on 13Deals.com, not gonna lie. It’s essentially like wandering through a huge discount warehouse until your entire shopping cart is full (probably of things you never knew you needed) and you’re wondering what just happened. The second page details the SUPER box prizes.
Can you believe 6 people received Roomba vacuums in their May box?! Madness, I tell you! June’s prize is an Amazon Echo and is guaranteed to go to at least 5 subscribers!
I was lucky enough to win an Amazon Echo earlier this year and am surprised at how much we use it! Jonathan moved our iHome radio into the bedroom (which I will be taking upstairs to my office soon) and the Echo is now in the living room for all of us to enjoy. It comes pre-loaded with the name Alexa; Little G LOVES saying (i.e. screaming) “Alexa!! Goodnight!!” because occasionally she’ll respond by saying, “Don’t let the bed bugs bite!” before turning off. Amazing machine.
Cobble Creek Non-Soggy Cereal Bowl | $14.99*
This is such an excellent idea and I am positive Little G will absolutely flip out when we are brave enough to let him try it. The design is really interesting to me with an indentation on the side for easy holding, a shallow side for dry cereal and a deeper reservoir to hold the milk. Goodness knows we all hate soggy cereal! (I’m looking at you, frosted mini wheats.)
*Note: This value is based on “The Original Crispy Bowl” by Obol.
Roobee by Mara-Mi Beverage Napkins 40 ct (Red Moustache) | $2.99
I will be gifting these napkins to my brother, who shares my joy in receiving oddball things in the mail. We don’t really do a ton of entertaining at our house and I’m afraid these cocktail napkins would just sit in my cabinet collecting dust. I’m still happy I can send these to my brother and give Joe a random bit of fun!
Iron Man 3 Foil Wall Decals | $15.99
Little G saw these wall decals and freaked out. He told me he wanted the “BIG STICKERS” from the pack and that he wanted to put them on his cheek… Sometimes I want him to stay two-years old forever.
I might be making myself an outsider here but I have never seen the first Iron Man (let alone the third) and feel these wall decals are a bit of a miss for our family right now. I’ll be including these cool decals in a future giveaway for y’all! The foil is very shiny and there are four different sheets of decals that can be used together or separately. I’m sure they’ll look fabulous on your walls! 🙂
Cowhide Print Throw Pillow & Blanket Set | $30.00?
The blanket and pillow are SO SOFT, oh my goodness. They are made out of 100% polyester and it feels like heaven. Unfortunately, the cowhide print doesn’t really match a single room in our house but I’m positive the blanket will come in handy when my feetsies get chilly on the couch! I haven’t figured out what to do with the throw pillow just yet, but I’m thinking about covering it with a really cute pillow cover that I received in my February Peaches & Petals box.
Typhoon Glass Work Top Protector (Jams) | $19.99
Eeeep! I have no idea why I love this SO so much but here I am squealing over the awesomeness. This is such a completely random thing to receive and I just LOVE it! Jaws was one of my favorite movies growing up and the ride at Universal Studios was mandatory on every visit to the park, that is, until the ride closed permanently in 2012. (Sadness.) This is my favorite item in the May 2016 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome and I seriously can’t stop squealing over the cheesy nod to this 1975 classic thriller. “Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the toaster.” Bahaha!
Made from tempered glass with non-slip silicone feet, it is heat resistant up to 425 degrees! It also happens to look excellent supporting my glass of delicious wine, don’t you agree?
Yard Play 3PC BBQ Grill Set + Grill Light | $19.99 (13Deals.com)
This is going to sound crazy but my house is completely inundated with grill sets… I gave Jonathan a grill set for Christmas two years ago, then Office Depot randomly gifted me a huge grill set when I placed a large order online for work (my boss commanded I take it home), and now we received this one too! Luckily dad was just talking about picking up a grill set for his super awesome charcoal grill, so I will give this one to him. This is a great set too, with heavy duty stainless steel tongs, large fork and spatula plus a battery-powered LED clamp light for grilling in the dusk hours. That’ll be great for fall evenings when the sun sets ridiculously early. Dad is going to LOVE this! I can’t wait for my parents to get back from Florida!
My Thoughts
May 2016 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome Total Value: $103.95
Seriously?? I still can’t get over the VALUE of the items in this subscription box! The May box literally cost 1/4 of the total estimated value received. I am pretty happy with what I received overall and have found a home for all of the goodies in the box, excepting the Iron Man 3 decals (which will be going to one of YOU soon in a giveaway!). I know dad is going to love the grill set and I am infatuated with the “Jams” work top protector.
I would have loved to receive a Roomba (which would have brought the value of the box to over $400!!!!), but am extremely content with all of the goodies contained in my box! What’s your favorite item in the May box?
xo
Sarah
I love the glass top protector and the blanket/pillow combo!
This is really exciting. I love mystery boxes. Everything in this box is so cool.
