Well May certainly flew by and all of a sudden we’re into June! Holy cow! I definitely needed time to refresh and organize pretty much everything in my life… so I was really excited for May’s theme and couldn’t wait to dig in to see what Covet Crate sent!
The front cover of the provided booklet features Malala Yousafzai, who is best known for her human rights advocacy for children’s rights to education. As a child, she was targeted by the Taliban for her activism, shot in the head and survived. Malala is now the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate and continues her efforts in making education available to young girls across the globe through the Malala Fund.
The first layout reveals a Table of Contents, a note from the Covet Crate team about this month’s theme, and a brief biography on Malala Yousafzai.
Each month, Covet Crate features a different Woman of the Month. May’s VIP is Deborrah Ashley, founder of Thrivoo Social Branding. Subscribers can learn a little about the woman behind the business from the Q&A as well as take advantage of an awesome 15-minute social media audit session with Thrivoo!
Thrivoo Social Branding 15-Minute Social Media Audit Session | $49.00
This is pretty awesome! I love that Covet Crate featured a company that focuses on helping businesses grow using social media. I am extremely interested in giving this a shot and hopefully am able to take away some useful information to apply going forward! Now to get 15 minutes of uninterrupted phone time away from Little G……..
The rest of the booklet details the items in the box as well as brief bios of the companies featured.
First peek in the box and I’m seeing a lot of office supply goodness!
Parris Chic Boutique Pillow Cover, “Home Sweet Home” | $20.00
I LOOOOVE this pillow cover! I thought I had a gazillion throw pillows at the house but it turns out I actually only have two. Hmm…. This pillow cover is handmade using off-white, oatmeal colored Osnaburg fabric (faux linen) which is then printed with original, hand lettered calligraphy by shop owner, Alyssa Thiel. This looks great on the glider chair in my office!!
Liz Davenport Order from Chaos | $12.50
The Six Steps to Organizational Freedom
Do you:
*Miss important deadlines at work?
*Forget to return urgent phone calls?
*Lose papers that were “just here a minute ago”?
*Have multiple layers of sticky notes on your computer?
*Leave projects unfinished for days, weeks, or even months at a time?If any of these sound familiar, then you are among the ranks of the disorganized—whether mildly or completely—and Liz Davenport has written this book just for you. Order from Chaos is the organizing book for disorganized people. In six easy steps she offers a system that will help you clean up your act. She demonstrates how to clear your desk by teaching you what’s trash and why, reveals what a calendar is really meant to be, and provides a no-fail system for prioritization. At the end of the day, your desk will be clear and your mind will be free to relax.
Rather than offering overcomplicated instructions for filing systems and time management plans, Order from Chaos focuses on ease of use. There is not one person—from office assistant to CEO—who will not benefit from this straightforward, easy-to-maintain plan.
Yep, that’s me. Totally me. I haven’t had a chance to read this book yet, but it is in my go-bag and will be making its way into my brain as soon as I have a moment to breathe! Honestly, I can’t wait to read it and hopefully get some clarity on why I always feel a hot mess at work!
Poppin Bits + Bobs Tray | $5.00
Poppin Assorted Paper Clips, Box of 50 | $4.00
I love Poppin products for their clean, modern design and super affordability. It sounds silly, but I have been eyeing the staple remover (found HERE) for a while now and really want to get the little doodad for my office. I can never have too many paperclips and love the bright colors I received. The Bits + Bobs tray will be coming with me to work, when I can remember to bring it in. (I really really should read that book…) I think that these items are really handy but feel they are a little out of place to be included in such a high-priced subscription box. I could (and do) buy Poppin products at my local office supply store. I would have liked to see something I couldn’t buy “just anywhere” to help me organize my office space. Not complaining too much though, as I personally love these items!
Covet Crate Watercolor Collection, Art Print, Sticky Notes, Notepad | $32.50
I have been receiving quite a few art prints in subscription boxes and have completely run out of frames in my house. I will be gifting this print to my bestie when I see her at the end of the month. I love the colors in this collection and am impressed that Covet Crate is creating their own stationery! I can’t wait to bring the sticky notes in to work with me. My coworkers are going to love getting memos on these super stylish stickies! (They’ll be so jelly!) Jonathan and I will use the notepad for our weekly chore and grocery lists in the kitchen. I really love the imperfect lines on the notepad. So cute!
My Thoughts
“Girl Boss” May 2016 Covet Crate Total Value: $74.00
I’m not including the value of the Thrivoo 15-minute audit session in my total value simply because it’s an offer for services that may or may not be used, depending on whether you need social media consulting.
I personally enjoyed the May Girl Boss box a lot and was happy to receive some great office supplies and accessories! My favorite item in the box has to be the Order from Chaos book, though I have not been able to read it just yet. I am a total office supply junkie, so this box theme was pretty darn perfect for me!! I am all about desk organization and have to clear my workspace every day before I leave the office. This even means leaving stickies on my piles of work papers so I know what I need to do the following day. I can use practically everything in my box and am looking forward to what I will receive in JULY!
