March 2016 Birchbox Review
Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that contains five beauty samples curated for different categories, including skin, hair, makeup and fragrance. You complete a Beauty Profile when you create your customer account to help them choose what to include in your box. For $10 each month or $110 for an annual subscription, this thrifty little box lets you try new beauty products for a very low cost and always meets or exceeds the value paid.
As always, the March 2016 Birchbox includes a product information card that gives you the description and cost of each item. This is a feature that I always find helpful in a subscription box!
Cargo Land Down Under Eye Shadow Palette sample size $5.66 (Full Size $34)
This sample size is an eye shadow duo of lovely earth-tone neutral colors. Unfortunately my light shade arrived broken and I will have to try to fix it, but these are great, user-friendly eye shadow tones.
Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm sample size 3 ml $3.30 (Full Size 15 ml $16.50)
This is a 100% natural formula for rehydrating depleted skin and lips. Plus you can use it on sunburns. It is thick, odorless and tasteless. I put this on my lips at bedtime to keep them moist through the night!
Number 4 Lumiere dhiver Fluoro5 Elixer Restore & Repair Oil sample size 0.5 oz $6.50 (Full Size 2 oz $26)
This is a lightweight hair repair treatment serum. It gives your dull hair a gleaming shine and repairs/conditions. A little goes a long way.
theBalm cosmetics Staniac in Beauty Queen sample size .04 oz $2.50 (Full Size .3 oz $17)
This is a gel-based hint of tint for cheeks and lips. It won’t streak or fade and works with all skin tones. It has an aloe-infused gel-based formula that gives you more time to adjust the shading before the stain sets.
Wilma Schumann Skin Care Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads 1 pair $3.60 (Full Size 5 pair $18)
This is a pair of collagen pads that hydrate and plump the skin around your eyes. They will visibly and effectively improve the appearance of fine lines and reduce puffiness.
The March 2016 Birchbox did not contain any full size products and I had to calculate the prices based on the full size price. Even so, the value of the samples added up to over $21, more than double the price of the subscription box. I had some shipping issues this month as the Number 4 Restore and Repair Oil had leaked out into the box and the eyeshadow was cracked. Birchbox was easy to contact with my problem and I have a replacement in the mail for the oil. I can fix the eyeshadow, so no harm done.
Did you receive the March 2016 Birchbox? What did you think?
