July 2016 Farm to People Tasting Box Review
Farm to People is a foodie subscription box that contains locally crafted, small batch gourmet foodstuffs that are free of GMOs and artificial ingredients. Their meat/dairy/egg products come from animals that have been humanely raised and fed non-GMO foods. Farm to People also sells body care products, pet care products and accessories.
Each month has a new theme.
They offer two different subscription boxes:
The Casual Foodie – 3-4 products – $29.95
The Food Critic – 5 – 8 products – $49.99
The Homespun Chics paid for this subscription box. All opinions are 100% our own. This post contains affiliate links.
July Theme: Summer Cookout
My July 2016 Farm to People Tasting Box arrived in great shape. All of the items were well packed with recyclable brown paper and nothing was broken or leaking. Their fold-out product information card is very thorough and tells you all about the items in the box, plus it has photos and information about the company and a map that indicates where the company is located. The 6 items in my July 2016 Farm to People Box fit this month’s “Summer Cookout” theme very well.
Mustard and Co. – Smoky BBQ Mustard 2.2 oz ($5.00)
This is perfect for that summer barbecue! How many times have you added a little mustard to your BBQ sauce? Now we have mustard with some BBQ sauce added to it! It is great for a marinade as well as to put on your hot dogs!
4505 Meats – Kettle Cooked Chicharrones 1 oz ($4.00)
These are light and crisp, part of their “Swine So Fine” product line. I learned that I love pork rinds back in the old Atkins Diet days and I still eat them occasionally, only in moderation!
Greenpoint Trading Co. – Coffee Rub sample size ?($1.00)
This is a rub made with roasted coffee, dark chili powder, brown sugar, paprika, garlic, onion, salt & pepper. They say it is good for chicken, fish, ribs and steak, whether you cook it outside on the grill or inside in the oven.
Hunnybon – Superfruit Chews 2.75 oz ($5.77)
These are made with Baobab mixed with fruit puree and are sweet and full of fiber. They are supposed to be strawberry, according to her website. Little G likes them a lot and Sarah is using them as potty training treats.
Jule’s Gourmet – Jamaican Jerk Sauce & Marinade 12 oz ($7.95)
Scotch Bonnet Peppers are the signature ingredient in this jerk sauce and they have directions on the bottle for fixing jerk chicken. It is gluten-free, vegan and non-dairy. The taste will make you think you are down in the islands!
Q’s Nuts – Banana Foster Pecans 2.25 oz ($3.49)
Very tasty and almost praline-like! They are flavored with sugar, banana, rum, and vanilla extract.
The dollar value of the July 2016 Farm to People Tasting Box was not really there this month. I don’t mind paying full price for what I purchase if necessary or if it is for a good cause, but I balk at paying more than the purchase price for products. The items in the July 2016 Farm to People Tasting Box added up to $27.21 but the price I paid for the box was $32.94. I used the prices on the product manufacturers’ websites, not the higher prices on the Farm to People website. All of the food products were tasty, and both of the boxes I have received from them have had very interesting and healthy foods.
I don’t have enough money to get a subscription box but I like learning about new products.
Mmmm!!! Those banana foster pecans sound SO AMAZING!!!!
The Q’s Nuts – Banana Foster Pecans sound tasty. Not sure about the other items.
Oh wow I want both of these subscription boxes, this is the first time one ever interested me. They sound wonderful!
