I have to admit that I had never considered chocolate and coconut as a coffee flavor, so when I received Java Factory Choconut coffee to review I was a bit skeptical. It sounded whimsical, interesting, and a lot like a particular candy bar that I have craved since childhood (minus the coffee part). But how do those three flavors work together?

Step one was to brew the first cup. And the aroma was a no-kidding mixture of chocolate and coconut to my senses. Plus there was definitely a coffee scent in the air. A good start!

Step two involved actually drinking our freshly brewed coffee. My husband and I each tried our first cup – and we both loved it! The coffee has a smooth taste with no bitterness. My husband is a flavored coffee devotee, so I correctly anticipated that he would give a thumbs up. His only suggestion was that the basic coffee roast be a darker kind – just his personal preference. I prefer a non-flavored coffee, given the choice, and drink mine with cream and sugar. And (IMHO!) Choconut coffee is just MADE to be enjoyed with cream and sugar to enhance all three of the flavors that make this a really decadent coffee treat!

Java Factory makes their coffee from fresh roasted, perfectly ground 100% Arabica coffee beans. They hand craft their specialty coffees to ensure flavor and smoothness. The single-serve Java Factory cup has an advanced filter system that “causes ‘turbulation’ within the grounds, helping the coffee diffuse better throughout the cup, and enhancing the flavor” and are Keurig-compatible (except for the Vue system).
