January Peaches & Petals
I was in Peaches & Petals withdrawal through the month of December after receiving my November box, which I loved! I received an email from Peaches & Petals explaining a recent cost increase of $5.00 per month. I am looking forward to seeing what P&P has in store with these changes, with promises to include more value and better quality!

*A Note from the Peaches & Petals Team:
Our goals for 2016 is to make each box better and better. Filled with more value, and better quality. We are working with amazing local suppliers, who are interested in getting their product out to you, and in return, you could purchase larger sizes, and learn more about their company. Also, we will be introducing you to up-and-coming brands as well as staying on trend with the latest products on the market.
In order to do these things and to keep up with increasing shipping rates, our new subscription rate will be $19.99 per month. This will still be among the lowest priced lifestyle box on the market! New subscribers will incur the new fee at $19.99 effective January 15th. However, for our current subscribers prior to January 15th, we will continue your subscription at the introductory rate of $14.99 until March 15th, then it will switch to the new rate of $19.99.
First peek! I love this tissue paper and am so sad that Little G ripped a huge hole in it. He really loves helping mommy open subscription boxes!
January Peaches & Petals Theme: No Time Like The Present!
The information card lists all of the items in the box with brief descriptions, but does not include retail values or brand names. I can see this as a pretty good decision since it allows the subscriber to establish her own value of the item as it applies to her lifestyle rather than relying on a brand name and price to decide it for her. Nevertheless, I will do my best to estimate retail values here!
Hamilton Beach 17 oz. Fruit Infuser Bottle (Lime Green) – Value: $15.00?
Okay, so I have an unofficial collection of water bottles that are slowly taking over an entire shelf in our kitchen cabinets. I especially love glass bottles like this one which also comes with a removable fruit basket to infuse your water with, well, fruit. I will most likely not be using the infuser and am grateful that you can remove it to use as a regular water bottle. I can never have enough water bottles.
Especially since Little G insists on drinking out of my bottle each time I go for some water. My dad calls toddlers “little disease vectors” and he’s right. Little G is always sick, almost sick, or just about over being sick. It’s good to have a backup or two… or six…
Kikkerland Selfie Stick – Value: $10.00
A selfie stick. Aah, I never thought the day would come that I would own a selfie stick but subscription boxes are all about trying new things you normally wouldn’t purchase for yourself, right? My dad bought a selfie stick for when my parents travel so they could take pictures together without the aid of a stranger snapping the shot. I’d pay good money to witness my parents taking selfies on a cruise… good money, I say.
Unfortunately, our selfie stick was a flop. I have an iPhone 6 Plus, which is much too large to fit on the selfie stick. Jonathan’s iPhone 6 fit but the button on the selfie stick failed to trigger the camera after we plugged the cord into the headphone jack. Turns out this model doesn’t work on iOS 9 or later. Good news is it does work with earlier Apple software. (I tested it on my iPad 2.)
P&P is doing something fun and interactive for the January Peaches & Petals box! Subscribers can enter to win a fun experience like skydiving, exotic cooking classes, hot air balloon ride, etc. by using their selfie sticks to take a photo and post it with the hashtag to any of the Peaches & Petals social media channels! Oh well, I suppose I can always duct tape my iPad to the end of the selfie stick and get to work!
Adventure Jewelry Bracelet – Value: $8.00?
This is an adorable gold-colored bracelet. It’s very thin and dainty, which would be perfect if it weren’t so wide. I have tiny wrists and can’t even pretend that this fits me… but I really love the look, so I will try to repurpose this somewhere around the house. 🙂
UPDATE!!! My girl Miranda from Jammin’ Butter gave me a heads up on how to wear this bracelet! The plane and cloud actually clasp together to secure the bracelet to your wrist.
Much better 🙂 and quite cute too! Thanks, Miranda!!
Family Circle Healthy Home-Style Cooking Cookbook – Value: $9.99
So THIS is why the January Peaches & Petals box was so heavy! Jonathan was excited to see a cookbook in my box and couldn’t wait to check out the recipes. It’s so easy for us to get in a food rut at our house when planning meals for each week. Though the internet has a wealth of recipes available, it’s really hard to think of the perfect search terms to find recipes we want to try.
The hardbound book is gorgeous with easy-to-follow recipes and pictures spread throughout! There is something in here for everyone, I’m sure. We already bookmarked some new recipes to try out.
Including dessert. Yum.
Inspirational Decal (Peter Pan) – Value: $2.00?
Jonathan and I were talking about getting the Peter Pan DVD for Little G just the other day. This is such a great quote by J.M. Barrie and I love the look of this decal! I’m thinking about applying this sticker to some scrapbook paper and framing it to put in Little G’s room. Too cute!
My Thoughts
January Peaches & Petals Total Value: $44.99
I really love this month’s theme and felt all of the items tied in perfectly. I definitely made some educated guesses on a few items in this month’s box but feel pretty good about the values I’ve assigned. I am SO excited to try out new recipes from the cookbook with Jonathan and LOVE the glass water bottle. (The silicone sleeve is especially nice.)
And though I wasn’t able to use the selfie stick, I really like that P&P included a subscriber challenge to coincide with this item. I will use everything in the box except for the selfie stick, which I may offer in a giveaway in the near future… what do you think about that?
I am super excited to see what Peaches & Petals has in store for 2016!!
Don’t forget to use coupon code HOMESPUNPEACH to save 50% off your first box!
