January 2017 Pet Treater Box Review
Pet Treater is a monthly subscription box for dogs that contains quality items for a fraction of the retail value. Box contents may include treats (made in USA or Canada only), interactive toys, accessories, grooming supplies, and more! For every box that ships, Pet Treater donates a toy, bag of treats, or blanket to an animal shelter in need.
The Homespun Chics received this box for review. All opinions are 100% our own. This post contains affiliate links.

First peek!
I had a lot of help from Little G while reviewing Pet Treater this month! Our sweet Beijing was ridiculously excited to see her huge box of goodies. Between her and Little G, we had a ton of fun snapping photos and trying almost everything we received.
Theme: Cheers! To Another “Dog” Gone Year!
December’s Pet of the Month is a cute pup named Timber! Subscribers can email a photo of their pet enjoying the current month’s bounty for a chance to be the next featured Pet of the Month!
Little G was so excited to open Beijing’s mail!
This month’s letter is all about New Year’s Resolutions and comes from a dog named EJ aka Party Animal. 🙂 As always, there was a huge ‘thank you’ in the postscript for subscribing to Pet Treater since every purchase helps donate a bed, blanket, or toy to a local shelter animal.
Can you guess what we grabbed out of the box first?
PEZ Hedz Soft Candy Chews (5 oz) | $2.50
We just received a bag of these in our December 2016 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome! They are soft with a texture similar to circus peanuts and are quite sweet. Little G was terribly excited to see another bag of these in Beeba’s Pet Treater box!
ShedMonster Undercoat Rake (Large Dog) | $5.00?
This is a hardcore dog comb that is designed to remove mats, tangles, and shedding. Since Beijing is a basset hound / shar pei mix, she does not have a thick undercoat to rake. Jonathan wants to get a long haired German Shepherd once we move into our next house so I will be packing this up for future use!
Look at those teeth! Reviews on Amazon are mostly good, stating that the comb works wonders on the undercoat, but there were a couple warnings not to apply too much pressure due to the pointy prongs potentially digging into the skin.
Smart n’ Tasty Little Duckies with Duck & Sweet Potato (5 oz) | $6.99
These adorable treats are made in the US and have an expiration date of June 12th, 2017.
They are the perfect size for training and an added bonus? They’re shaped like little ducks! Quack quack!
Little G had a BLAST “training” Beeba to sit, stay, and jump! I have a ton of outtakes from our little photo session, but I have refrained from posting the hilarity…
Okay, here’s just one picture of a failed attempt at getting her to “JUMP, BEEBA!”
Fresh Solutions Pet Carpet Wipes (30 ct) | $6.49
Yes! This pack of carpet wipes could not have come at a better time! We are frantically getting our house ready for sale and as such, are finding little spots in our carpet and rugs that could use some touching up. (Captain Obvious Moment: Pets and toddlers are very messy.) The wipes are made in the US and are free of phosphates, which makes them safe for all washable fabrics.
Zanies Barnyard Unstuffies Pet Toy (Large Mouse) | $8.85
Zanies makes the best dog toys! Unstuffies are great for mess-less play. This mouse had a squeaker on either end of the toy for maximum fun!
Let’s just take a moment and comment on the CUTENESS! Aww!
Moment is over… I found both squeakers on the floor seconds later.
To Doggy With Love Chicken Meatball Treats (3.5 oz)
Fancy dog treats! Made in the US with only locally sourced chicken hearts and sea salt. The expiration date is November 6, 2017.
These meaty treats are the perfect size for rewarding Beijing after she goes out to piddle or when Little G wants to give her a little snack!
It was quite clear that Beijing thought these were DELICIOUS!
Grriggles Darling Dragon Dog Toy (Orange) | $18.37
Lastly, we received this CUTE orange dragon dog toy made by Grriggles. It measures 12″ tall (yeah, that’s a big toy) and came with a squeaker in its belly.
Beeba had a great time with the dragon! Oh, and the squeaker? Gone.
Final Thoughts
The January 2017 Pet Treater was amazing! We all had a great time playing with everything and Beijing absolutely loves her treats! We will be sharing the Smart n’ Tasty duck & sweet potato treats with mom’s dogs. Rocket is allergic to chicken, so we do our best to share any treats that he can eat! Little G’s favorite item was the bag of duck treats and I believe Beijing’s favorite item was the large Unstuffies mouse! We are very much looking forward to next month’s box!!

These boxes are always so fun to get to see a sneak peek!
This is such a cute and fun dog box! I love getting to see everything you recieved in yours! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
My new dog LOVES toys. Every kind, every one. He plays with them all. My old dog only had one toy and never wanted anything else. This subscription box would be perfect. Always a new toy coming. He would think he was in heaven.
This box has a great selection of toys and treats. While my senior dog would LOVE all those treats (and do all of her tricks for them!), I’d give all those squeaker toys to my sister’s boxer. He LOVES squeaky toys (well, he loves treats, too). Like your Beijing, the squeakers don’t stay inside the toys for long!
We do not have a dog so this is not something I would do but my cousin and his wife have a subscription like this and they love it. Their furbaby loves it too!
What a great mix of treats and toys!! I love that the treats are a little out of the ordinary and I also love the enclosed letter!! I love that they personalize it!! Super cute!
I love subscription boxes! Such neat treat ideas. Great review. Thank you for sharing.
