Each month a select number of subscribers are randomly chosen to receive an extra cool item inside their box. The January 2017 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome surprised 6 subscribers with a Ring WiFi Enabled Video Door Bell!

Weber – Coffee Rub 12.5 oz ($6)

This is a large tub of coffee rub for your grilled meat. It contains sugar, salt, chili pepper, coffee, garlic, onion and a bit of cocoa powder. No artificial preservatives – No artificial flavors – Gluten-Free. You could probably grill all summer with this amount of rub! But spring is around the corner and we will be ready!

Disney – Star Wars Yoda Ceramic Goblet ($17)

This is a large ceramic Yoda goblet with expired chocolate cocoa mix. Collectors probably wouldn’t want it for the cocoa mix anyhow. Prices for this are all over the place as stores aren’t carrying them anymore.

(Unbranded) – Cut Resistant Gloves ($8)

This is a pair of black cut resistant gloves. The package states that they are not puncture resistant or cut proof. One size fits most. These would be great in the kitchen or for filleting fish in your boat!

Westinghouse Waxfree Fragrance Warmer with 3 fragrance disks ($14.99)

This is a blue 4″ X 4″ceramic fragrance warmer that comes with a vanilla fragrance disk plus 2 more fragrances in separate packages – Garden Party and Sun Dried Linen. The disks are non-toxic and wax-free, lasting up to 50 hours depending on your room size. The warming plate is safe to touch and uses a flickering LED light with an automatic safety shut off after 5 hours. The wall cord has an in-line roller on/off switch. This is so much safer than a candle!

Buy Design Studios, LTD – I (Heart) Bacon 2017 Wall Calendar ($4.97)

Who doesn’t love bacon?? I know I do! This is a wall calendar full of facts and info about our favorite food. It began 9/16 and runs through 12/17. Every full color- page features a bacon recipe! Now I already have my Benedict Cumberbatch calendar on the kitchen wall (hubby still doesn’t know who he is!!) but I might have to find a place for this one, too!

Philips – 40 watt LED Light Bulbs (4) ($39.97)

These are LED soft white light dimmable fan bulbs that use 4.5 W to replace 40 W bulbs in your ceiling fan. They are supposed to last 22.8 years each, based on 3 hours of use each day. I have never had lightbulbs, even LEDs, last more than a few years so I think that is a hopeful estimate but not to be taken seriously.

The retail value of the goodies in the January 2017 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome came to about $91, so a fantastic value for the price of the box! The light bulbs alone cost more than the box itself and the rest was just basically free. It was quite an assortment of products, as is usual for this sub box, but who can’t use light bulbs? And I LOVE the fragrance warmer.
