Greek Turkey Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce Recipe
Greek Turkey Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce
I am very aware of the need to cut down on saturated fats and that substituting ground turkey for ground beef is one effective way of achieving that goal. But I never liked ground turkey. You couldn’t hide it in a stew or under a sauce. I never liked ground turkey in anything until I tasted these Greek Turkey Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce! This is a delicious Betty Crocker recipe that my son in law fixes for dinner and the whole family enjoys, even little G. And me!
It amazes me sometimes how the combination of just a few ingredients can make the most ordinary recipes taste different and unique! All you need to mix into the ground turkey is Feta cheese, yogurt, red onion, dill, garlic, salt, and pepper.
You can cook the burgers on a gas or charcoal grill – or just on the stove. I think the flavor of a charcoal grill just transforms any food into something…more. But that is a whole evening’s work and not usually for a weeknight meal.
Plain yogurt, cucumber, red onion, dill, and lemon juice all come together to make a wonderful Greek Tzatziki sauce that perfectly enhances the flavor of the turkey burgers! Jonathan says he is quite liberal with the amount of cucumber and red onion in his sauce. He also cuts out the mushy/seedy middle part of the cucumber as it makes the sauce too watery.
YUM!! Fix the sauce ahead of time so the flavors meld together and keep in the refrigerator until time to serve.

I’ve never tried turkey burgers before… my kids really like turkey, so I wonder if I could get them to eat them. The photo looks really good! The feta sounds really good with it!
These sound delicious. I’ve never had turkey burgers but we love turkey. This would be nice for a change of menu.
