Goat Cheese and Green Onion Cheese Ball Recipe
This is a favorite cheese ball recipe of ours traditionally prepared for our Christmas morning brunch. As appetizers go, this is a tasty and reliable success whenever served and a hit with goat cheese lovers! It pairs well with almost any kind of cracker and our choice this year was a round butter cracker. Easy to prepare and you can fix and refrigerate it up to 3 days ahead or freeze up to 1 month.
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp soft butter
- 1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
- 6 oz goat cheese, softened
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- ¼ tsp Worchestershire sauce
- 3 dashes hot sauce (I used smoky Tabasco)
- Pinch of coarse salt
- Pinch of white pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/3 cup fresh parsley leaves, chopped
Directions:
Combine butter, cream cheese, goat cheese, lemon juice, Worchestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt & pepper together with electric mixer. Add green onions and mix by hand until combined. Form into a ball. Roll in the parsley to cover. (If you are not serving right away, store before adding the parsley.) Wrap in plastic wrap and rechill so it will keep its shape. Serve with crackers or veggies.
