GlossyBox Subscription Box Review October 2015 Vive la France!
This was my first time to receive the GlossyBox and I was extremely pleased to have ordered it. GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box and I love trying out new skin and beauty products! You never know what you will fall in love with and some of my very favorite products have been discovered quite by accident, so it was with quite eager hands that I opened this first GlossyBox.
My first impression was that this box was designed to impress! The contents were packed in such a lovely box that I am considering keeping the box to use in my closet to store small things. This was a selection of items inspired by French elegance and the box reflects its contents perfectly! A card was included that described each of the products in my box.
Gelee Exfoliante Douce 2.6 oz
Described as a “Gentle Exfoliating Gel with Rose Petals,” this full size tone and texture enhancer’s $24.00 price on the pamphlet is right in line with the prices I found online. Exfoliation is such a must for a fresh clean face! I love the way it makes my face feel!
Phytokeratine Repairing Thermal Protectant Spray 1 oz.
This is a leave-in conditioner for weakened, damaged hair. The card explains that it “detangles, protects hair from heat and breakage while preventing future damage.” Perfect! My hair is thin and color treated and needs all the help it can get! The full size (5 oz) retails for $32.00, making the value of this one about $6.40.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis Spray Mini 0.17 fl oz
This Eau De Toilette spray (sample size) is currently selling for $15.00 on eBay but I am not able to find the same size as a purchase item elsewhere. The 70 ml size is selling online for $185. This has a fresh, clean and slightly citrusy smell with definite hint of Lily of the Valley and it contains natural extracts. I really like this refreshing scent and this is a keeper!
Lollipops Make Up Paris Nail Lacquer in “Voyage A Paris” .4 oz
Red, red nail polish, just what you would expect to see a Parisian wear on their beautifully manicured nails, perfect for this French-inspired box! It is opaque and glossy, quite sophisticated. Now I just need to let my nails grow out enough to wear it to the grocery store! Another full size item, it retails for $10.
De Bruyere Paris Red Lipgloss
This is another Parisian inspired color, a little pinker when you apply it than it looks from the outside of the tube. I was glad it was a lip gloss rather than a lipstick as my lifestyle is rather informal and I do tend to use gloss frequently. This one is very glossy and will be great for the holiday season. Another keeper! It is a full size tube and retails for $17.50.
I calculated a price for all the individual products at $72.50 so it is certainly worth the price of a monthly subscription. GlossyBox’s monthly plan is $21.00/month and if you want to pay up front for a 12 month plan, the price drops to $18.50/month. What a great box of items at an equally great value!
I love that red lipgloss.
I love Glossybox. I started my subscription two months ago, and the French box has been my favorite so far. I also am going to keep the box, it is too pretty to recycle! I love the red nail polish and lip gloss.
I have heard a lot of great things about Glossybox. I will have to order this. I love trying out products like this.
This makes me wish I had enough money for a subscription.
I would love to get a subscription of this box for my mother, she loves beauty products. Personally, it’s not my thing, but I’m pretty thrilled about the concept of subscription boxes in general.
