Our favorite when my daughters were growing up was Goodnight Moon. Continues to be a favorite with my grandkids too.

If “Noisy Nora” counts as an early childhood book, then that was my favorite. If you mean something for kids even younger than that, then either “Ten Apples Up on Top” on any of the Helen Oxenbury board books.

A Golen Book Called Mrs. Ticklefeather who has a parrot that flew away and eventually came back. Another favorite is Catch Me and Kiss Me and Say It Again by Claude Watson. This one I know so well and has such catchy rhyming that I did a recitation of it by memory for a poetry group this year.
