Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars
Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars
You have to try this Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars recipe! I love that these simple cookie bars taste like a cross between my favorite sugar cookies and shortbread – sweet, chewy, and buttery. They are not only delicious but they become a sort of blank canvas can be so easily decorated for any holiday or occasion.
Most regular sugar cookie recipes require chilling the dough, rolling it out, and then cutting the dough into cookie shapes. This sugar cookie bar recipe eliminates all that time and work – all you have to do is flatten the dough into a baking pan for a thick, soft, and perfect sugar cookie bar. You just frost the whole pan of cookie bars at one time instead of frosting each individual cookie! I know there is always a place in our hearts and kitchens for the art of beautiful cookie decorating, but sometimes you just want to bake a dessert and go do something else. This is your recipe for that day!
The dough is full of simple ingredients and comes together quickly! You don’t even have to stress about how the top of the dough looks…
…because you cover it with a thick layer of delicious cream cheese frosting! Decorate these year-round holiday cookie bars with the appropriate color sprinkles or any other decorations that fit the occasion or your whim! Or just leave them plain and enjoy!
