The theme for our February 2019 Degusta Box is “Superbowl,” which features PBfit as the product of the month! The information sheet is a full page glossy with photos, descriptions of each product in the box, and includes an accurate price for each item.
The back of the information page has a yummy PBfit Berry Smoothie recipe on it. This looks delicious and really simple to create. We are definitely planning on giving this one a try after we pick up a bag of frozen berries from the store!
*Product of the Month*
PBfit | Original Peanut Butter Powder (8 oz) – $5.99
People go nuts for PBfit and here’s why: they don’t expect it to taste as good as regular peanut butter. So when it does, they get super excited, even a bit obsessed. Imagine snacking on peanut butter that’s about one-third the calories and 90% less fat compared to traditional peanut butter (when prepared as directed). That means guilt-free smoothies, PBJs, peanut butter dips, oatmeal, protein balls, pancakes — you get the idea. For a reduced-fat peanut butter spread, combine 2 Tablespoons of PBfit with 1.5 Tablespoons of water. YOu can also try substituting flour for PBfit in your favorite baked goods recipes.
Peanut butter powder is quick and easy to incorporate into healthy snacks. I used these packets of PBfit to make peanut butter banana smoothies for Gabe after school. Very convenient and healthy too!
Manitou Trading Company | Piri Piri Sauce (1.58 oz) – $2.99
This Piri Piri Sauce Starter packet is perfect for making a peppery chicken marinade. It can also be incorporated into sauces, stews, and dips. This is a great addition to a Superbowl-themed box since you can quickly take some wings and toss them in a gallon bag with this sauce starter the morning of the big game and leave them to marinate all day.
Manitou Trading Company | Truffle, Parmesan & Black Garlic Seasoning (1.6 oz) – $4.49
This powder seasoning is filled with bold umami-rich flavors that are sure to liven up any dish. Manitou Trading Company recommends sprinkling it over popcorn or tossing it with freshly fried or roasted potatoes. Mmm. We just tried this on popcorn yesterday and thought it was amazing — even Gabe loved it!
PopCorners | Spicy Queso Popped-Corn Snack (7 oz) – $3.29
We LOVE PopCorners! They’re incredibly addictive, light and super crunchy. Being pregnant, I have been blessed with incredibly intense heartburn after eating pretty much anything SO I’ve opted to give these bags of Spicy Queso flavored PopCorners to my brother, who I know will thoroughly enjoy them.
The Spicy Queso flavor is described as a tex-mex classic with an added chef-inspired medley of red and black peppercorns. The red peppercorns are especially rare and bring intense heat to every bit.
BeanSmash! | Cheesy Pinto Bean & Chipotle Black Bean Dips (2 oz) – $1.49 ea.
These are perfect snackable bowls of bean dips that are packed with protein and quick to heat up. All you have to do is add water and heat in the microwave. We decided to try the cheesy pinto bean dip when watching the Superbowl and it was super scrumptious! Mom will be eating the chipotle black bean dip. We’ll definitely keep an eye out for these in stores and will probably pick up a few to have in our pantry for those last-minute get togethers with friends!
Just Add | Classic Guacamole Quick Mix (1 oz) – $1.19 ea.
These packets of guacamole mixes could not have come at a better time! We had a few avocados that were bordering on too-ripe, so we quickly tore open one of these packets and made this guacamole mix and tossed it in the fridge for an afternoon snack. My husband and I both tried the guacamole as-is and thought it was perfect! The seasonings and flavor were spot on and we’re so excited to have two other mixes to use in this box. Simply mix one packet in with two ripe avocados, refrigerate to let the seasonings incorporate fully into the fruit and enjoy!
Unique | Sourdough Craft Beer Pretzel Rings (11 oz) – $3.29
These sourdough craft beer pretzels are really yummy! You can actually taste the malted barley and hops that are incorporated into the dough.
It had me craving some hot cheese dip to go with them so I made a really fast and simple cheese dip to enjoy during the Superbowl. SO good, we’re definitely going to pick up another bag or two of these pretzels. They have a great crunch, minimal crumbs, and the flavor is outstanding.
Emmy’s Organics | Vanilla Bean Coconut Cookies (2oz) – $2.49
These cookies are vegan, organic, non-GMO and gluten-free. It’s the perfect combination of smooth vanilla and fresh ground almonds with only 100 calories per serving! I’m saving this packet as a snack to bring to the hospital next week when I have my baby. I think it’s going to be a perfect pick-me-up.
Now through April 15th 2019, you can use coupon code DEGUSTA30 on your first order placed through the Emmy’s Organics website!
Raindrops | Candy Taco (4.06 oz) – $4.99
It’s a gummy candy taco! Gabe is OBSESSED with this piece of creative, edible taco-looking delicacy. I have not allowed him to open it yet because I fear for humanity when he does. It is quite hefty, weighing in at over 4 oz and filled entirely with a variety of Raindrops gummies. It does smell really, really good — I’m trying to hold out until we have a few people over so everyone can share in the fruity deliciousness (and so Gabe doesn’t eat all of it while we aren’t looking).
The total retail value of the February 2019 Degusta Box is approximately $28.00. I felt Degusta Box nailed the Superbowl theme this month. Collectively, my entire family will try out all of the items included in the box. Our favorites are the guacamole mix, craft beer pretzel rings and the anticipatory candy taco! We love receiving Degusta Box each month as it allows us to try unique foods that we typically have not experienced before!
What do you think of the February 2019 Degusta Box?
This is an interesting idea, but I’m not sure I am sold on it.
I absolutely love the concept of subscription boxes! Especially the foodie ones. I teach Diabetes ed classes and these give me a chance to try foods to recommend to our patients without first purchasing full products. And I’m a bean addict, so that BeanSmash! Cheesy Pinto Bean & Chipotle Black Bean Dip…Sounds yummy?
