February 2017 Pooch Perks Review
Pooch Perks is a monthly subscription box of toys and treats for your dog. You let them know the size of your dog(s) and any issues such as food sensitivities or heavy chewing. Shipping is free. Toys and treats are made in USA. Pooch Perks now has an updated website and has changed their subscription options:
Sample Pooch ($11.95) – 2 items from previous month’s box
Popular Pooch ($27.95) – 4 to 5 items
Custom Box – price depends on your dog’s size and the contents you choose.
The Homespun Chics paid for this subscription box. All opinions are 100% our own. This post contains affiliate links.
First peek! Before I even opened the box, the boys KNEW this was theirs!
Pooch Perks does not send a product information card but they did send a very cute card with information on how your dog shows that he/she loves you.
This review is for the “Popular Pooch” box. My February 2017 Pooch Perks box contained 2 bags of treats and two toys.
Rocket inspecting the box and making his first choice – the Squeaky Gems toy!
Down Dog Snacks – Appleberry Zensations Flavor 8 oz ($10)
These are small-batch made, all natural, grain-free, plant-based doggie treats made from garbanzo flour, potato starch, applesauce, organic coconut oil, organic flax seeds, blueberries, honey, and cinnamon. Sounds like something I would love to eat!
Sally Snacks – Venison Jerky with Turmeric 3 oz ($15)
These treats are made (in USA) from 100% dehydrated New Zealand grass fed venison and organic turmeric (an antioxidant). The venison is “sourced from family-owned farms in New Zealand that adhere to strict animal welfare codes.” These are good size strips of meat, similar to meat jerky you purchase for yourself, and are of equal quality.
Spunky Pup – Squeaky Gems ($7.99)
This is a faceted-shaped toy that is both durable and squeaky. Its shape gives it a crazy bounce so the dogs don’t know where it will go. Plus it floats and is dishwasher-safe. Both of my dogs love it and, more significantly, have been playing with it without damaging it. Not many toys live long here.
Multipet – Loofa Head Dog Toy ($4.99)
This is a flat plush dog toy with crinkle ears and a squeaker, 7″ in diameter. It says it contains no stuffing but there is some stuffing inside as well as a sheet of plastic or cellophane paper that makes the crinkle noise, plus a squeaker.
Both boys liked it!
This toy lasted less than 2 minutes.
The retail value of the dog goodies in the February 2017 Pooch Perks box came to $37.98. That is a much better value than the previous several months’ boxes and, along with their new website and new subscription options, I wonder if they have made an effort to also upgrade the quality of the items in their boxes. In any case, this was a very good month for Pooch Perks. Nothing contained chicken. I didn’t receive treats that were just cookies but instead the boys got some good venison treats. The Loofa dog toy was a real throwaway but it was the least expensive thing in the box. Jed and Rocket are still playing with the Squeaky Gems toy, so at least they have one new plaything this month!
Thanks for sharing! My sister’s dog would love this! Those treats sounded yummy. kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you. Happy February!
Super fun!! Love that squeaky gem! So sad about the loofah one since it was super cute!!
love the toy and thanks for sharing
The items in this box would be more than weloced by the beagle living in our house! I see snacks, such as ones made for lamb are both wholesome and I know tasty for our dog!
