Eat Feed Love Taste Club Subscription Box Dec 2015
The Taste Club by Eat Feed Love is a monthly subscription box for the foodie in your life (or in you!), sending a box of gourmet food items with a different theme each month. The cost is $39.99/month with free shipping from Vancouver, Canada and discounts for multiple month subscriptions.
The items are carefully curated to fit the theme and everything is high quality to enjoy for yourself or to host a dinner party. They also include recipe cards that feature the ingredients in your box to inspire you as you design your meals around these new artisan foods. Each month the company shares proceeds from sales with a charity and this month the charity was The Mustard Seed outreach in Vancouver, BC.
A letter is enclosed in the box explaining the monthly theme. This December box was themed “A Cozy Night In,” appropriate for this holiday time of the year when we are all focused on home and the weather is getting cold. Each item in the box was carefully wrapped and it was really like an early Christmas present as we unwrapped and exclaimed over each item!
Amola Mountain Mushroom Salt 4.23 oz ($10)
This is a salt that combines the flavors of wild chanterelles and lobster mushrooms to give it the flavor of the forest. It is great on mushroom dishes, eggs or on top of anything cheesy. A specialty of the Canadian West Coast.
Ronnie & Denzel’s Natural Champions BBQ Sauce Honey Mustard 12 oz ($12)
This is a west coast spin on a SC favorite. It took 1st place in the 2009 Napa Valley Worldwide Mustard Competition.
Metropolitan Chef Steak & Rib Rub 32 gm ($3.50)
This is a seasoning rub for steak, ribs, hamburgers and other meats like lamb and veal as well. Just rub it on. Glad they included hamburgers as that is the most likely meat we’ll use it with!
Olive the Senses Dark Balsamic Vinegar in Black Cherry 6.3 oz ($10)
This is a dense and fruity balsamic vinegar that partners well with cheese and fresh tart fruits. Will make a wonderful reduction for poultry and pork dishes.
Olive the Senses Infused Olive Oil in Wild Mushroom & Sage 6.3 oz ($10)
This is a savory mushroom and sage infused olive oil to bring an earthy taste to foods, a great complement to beef dishes or drizzled on steaks.
Olive the Senses Infused Olive Oil in Harissa 6.3 oz ($10)
This olive oil is infused with a blend of peppers, garlic, caraway, coriander and cumin, so it is spicy and rather Middle Eastern. Goes well with chicken and vegetable dishes.
Zingerman’s Askinosie Chocolate dark chocolate w/ crunchy sugar crystals & vanilla bean 3 oz ($9)
This handcrafted chocolate bar is 70% dark chocolate with cocoa beans & 30% organic cane sugar. It has pieces of whole organic vanilla beans sprinkled on the back. Yum!
This was my first Taste Club box and I was really impressed with both the care it was packed, the curation choices for the monthly theme and the quality of the products. The cost of the items came to $64.50, so the value is certainly there for a $39.99 price. Everything was suitably giftable, something to keep in mind when thinking of others for the holidays or other gift giving occasions.
The Homespun Chics paid for this subscription. All opinions are 100% our own.
