Dining at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts 2022
Dining at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts 2022
Epcot’s World Showcase is our favorite Disney World location. It’s always a fun place to wander around, hang out, eat, and drink. This year’s EPCOT 2022 International Festival of the Arts adds to the experience with artists’ tents displaying their Disney-themed artwork. But the BEST parts of this year’s visit were the pop-up Culinary Arts Festival Food Studios located at intervals all around the lake! Food studios are open daily January 14, 2022 through February 21, 2022.
“Art critics and gourmands alike can enjoy a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Explore a world where food imitates art as the epicurean elite converge to create mouthwatering magic that rivals the masters.”
We spent time at the park on a Saturday and the lines at all of the little kiosks were sooo long that it would have taken all afternoon to eat at each one. But on the following Monday the crowds remained light and we spent most of the day nibbling on small plates from the most delectable little foodie kiosks. (And a few other places!)
Crêpes À Emporter by La Crêperie de Paris
First stop on our tour was Crêpes À Emporte, inspired by the Brittany region of France and located behind the France Pavilion – and where people in a long, long line waited for the Remi ride. This particular morning that line reached almost to the Morocco Pavilion at a mere 10:45 AM. We decided on a Butter & Sugar crepe and a Red Berries crepe – people in France do eat crepes for breakfast after all! Ordered our food and turned around – the whole Remi line was gone! The ride had shut down all of a sudden and everyone had just disappeared.
Goshiki
“Celebrate the Japanese culinary arts with delectable dishes featuring “the 5 colors” of Japanese cuisine.”
Next stop was across from the Japan pavilion at Goshiki. This was a little place that had a huge line on Sunday but no one there yet when we arrived. Maybe a bit early for sushi? Never for us. This delightful snack was a “donut-shaped Sushi featuring Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp, Cucumber, and Sesame Seed over a decorated plate of Wasabi Aioli, Sriracha, and Eel Sauce.” So tasty!
Pastoral Palate
“Help yourself to hearty dishes inspired by the rustic settings where Bavarian Folk Art was painted.”
Pastoral Palate is located just past the Germany pavilion. We decided not to stop here. The food looked a bit heavy for the time of day, but judging from the line it was pretty popular.
Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe
Kringla has been the bakery at the Norway pavilion for years. We ordered a Troll Horn (puff pastry with orange marmalade cream) and a School Bread (sweet roll filled with custard and topped with coconut). The Troll Horn turned out to be our favorite of the two as the School Bread’s custard contained a spice, maybe anise?, that just tasted a little off.
The Craftsman’s Courtyard (Near Disney Traders)
“Enjoy seafood and refreshing salads inspired by one of the many hubs of the Arts and Crafts movement: the coast of California.”
The Craftman’s Corner served mussels and fish. We watched a chef cook them on a grill outside the kiosk while we ate our Pâté de Campagne (Country Pork Pâté with Pistachios, Truffles, Toasted Ciabatta, Red Onion Marmalade, Pickled Mustard Seed and Caper Berries). The pâté was a delight to the eye as well as to the tastebuds – note the cute pansies! And they had a wine flight to go along with!
Deco Delights (Near Port of Entry)
“Satisfy your sweet tooth with sleek desserts inspired by the art deco movement—from the gilded glamor of the roaring 20s to the bright pastels of Miami Beach.”
Deco Delights did indeed look decadent! Passed on this one with regrets!
The Deconstructed Dish (Near Port of Entry)
“Rediscover your favorite dishes fragmented and presented as never before.”
I have mentioned at least once before that I never pass up the French Onion Soup when we go out. So I just had to try the Deconstructed French Onion Soup (Beef Broth Ravioli, Gruyere Espuma, Onion Bread Pudding and Onion Textures). It was a tough call as one of the other options was a Deconstructed Key Lime Pie but we were starting to get pretty full! The beef broth was inside the ravioli and everything else combined with that to create the very tasty little French Onion Soup.
Gourmet Landscapes (Canada)
“Savor stunning dishes artfully composed with the finest ingredients farmed and foraged from the land.”
We did not stop at Canada’s Gourmet Landscapes but I did image the menu as we went past.
Yorkshire County Fish Shop
“Stop by for the finest British fare this side of the Pond. Savor battered fish served with piping-hot chips.”
The Yorkshire County Fish Shop is the quick take-out arm of the Rose and Crown Restaurant just across from the British pavilion. Not a pop-up shop by any means but it is a favorite that we never pass on. There’s nothing like sharing a meal of fish and chips washed down with a cold Guiness – even after snacking our way around the lake twice!
I’m so glad we had the opportunity to visit Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts! We actually passed (or just missed) quite a few of the many Culinary Arts Food Studios during our visit so those are not mentioned in this post. They really offer something for everyone’s taste buds. I’m sure the ones we walked past were just as delightful as the ones we tried – maybe we can visit again to finish our dining tour before this year’s festival closes!
