December 2018 Degusta Box Review
December 2018 Degusta Box
Degusta Box is a food subscription box that sends you 9 to 14 full-size surprise products each month at a price less than you would pay at the store for the items. The monthly cost is $19.99 with free shipping, charged on the 19th of each month.
There is no commitment and you can cancel the next month if you notify Degusta Box before the 15th of the month.
Did you catch the name change from Degustabox to Degusta Box? The website remains the same. And now they have a new logo design on their box for the November shipment!
The Homespun Chics received this subscription box for review. All opinions are 100% our own. This post contains affiliate links.
The December 2018 Degusta Box information sheet is a full page glossy with photos, descriptions of each product in the box, and includes an accurate price for each item.
The back of the product information sheet has a yummy-sounding recipe for braised chicken thighs using the Chef Paul Prudhomme Magic Seasoning Blend included in this month’s Degusta Box.
We also received a nice holiday card from the Degusta Box team along with a sweet photo of the group that packs our monthly Degusta Box with such care. We have never received a broken product from them yet!
Chef Paul Prudhomme – Magic Seasoning Blend “Poultry Magic” 2 oz ($3.00)
This is a seasoning blend to enhance your roasted, baked, broiled, barbecued, stir-fried, microwaved, sautéed or grilled chicken, turkey, duck, Cornish hens, or game birds. Use it instead of salt, pepper, or other spices. The seasoning mix is all natural, contains no MSG or preservatives and is Kosher approved.
Dave’s Gourmet – Creamy Ginger Citrus Hot Sauce 8 oz ($6.99)
Red Jalapeños, lime, and ginger combine to make a zesty, flavorful, and moderately spicy hot sauce. You can use it as a cooking sauce or on top of your favorite dishes. It is gluten-free, GMO free, vegan and has no preservatives.
Vahdam Teas – Assorted 5 Teas Sampler ($2.00)
This sampler of 5 different tea bags included Turmeric Spiced, Darjeeling Summer, Organic Himalayan, Chamomile Mint Citrus, and India’s Original Chai. The tea bags are pyramid shaped nylon, each individually packaged and sealed. Vahdam Teas is an Indian tea company that delivers fresh tea leaves to over 83 countries worldwide and is one of the largest employers of manual labor in India. We tried the Turmeric Spiced tea first and it was delicious even without any sweetener!
Chimes – Ginger Chews Chewy Ginger Candy – Original Flavor 1.5 oz ($1.99)
These little ginger chews are great to take along when you travel or just to nibble on during the day. They come in several different flavors. Degusta Box subscribers received either the original flavor or the orange flavor in their box this month.
Garden of Life – Maple Sea Salt GoL Bar 2.11 oz ($2.49)
This is an organic chewy, high protein, whole food bar with no artificial ingredients or added sugars. It contains only certified USDA organic, non-GMO Project Verified whole food ingredients.
SunSpire – Sundrops Dark Chocolate Candies 10 oz ($5.99)
These dark chocolate candies are a more wholesome alternative to traditional candy-coated chocolate. They contain no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, are sweetened with evaporated cane sugar, and their chocolate centers are made with fair trade dark chocolate. We received the dark chocolate candies in our box, but some Degusta Box subscribers received the milk chocolate variety. There is a great cookie recipe on the back of the bag.
Campfire Marshmallows – Mini Marshmallows 16 oz ($2.50) & Flavored Mini Marshmallows Snack Pack 1 oz ($.50)
Who doesn’t love marshmallows?? These mini marshmallows are perfect to use for baking or just to snack on. And my grandson can’t wait to eat the fruit flavored little snack pack! They are fat free and gluten free.
G.H. Cretors – (2) Popped Corn “The Mix” 1.5 oz each ($1.79)
The Mix Popcorn is a blend of rich, buttery caramel corn and premium, aged cheddar cheese corn, the perfect mix of sweet and salty. It is made from all-natural ingredients, and is certified Kosher for dairy, gluten-free, and contains non-GMO popcorn. So yummy!
Bahlsen – Iced Cinnamon Stars 3.5 oz ($4.99)
These are Bahlsen star-shaped iced cinnamon cookies with ground hazelnuts and white icing. They contain no added colors or preservatives and are a product of Germany. We also received a coupon for 50 cents off any Bahlsen product!
Hu Chocolate – Crunchy Mint Dark Chocolate Bar 2.1 oz ($5.99)
This is a vegan and paleo chocolate bar made with organic fair-trade cacao, unrefined organic coconut sugar, organic fair-trade cocoa butter, organic fair-trade cacao nibs, alcohol-free peppermint oil. This month Degusta Box sent everyone one of three flavors – Crunchy Mint, Crunchy Banana, or Vanilla Quinoa Crispy.
The retail value of the products curated for the December 2018 Degusta Box came to approx. $38.23. The value of this month’s box is more than twice the amount of the cost of the subscription box! I love reviewing Degusta Box each month – it is so fun to try out new brands and new varieties of old favorites.
Awesome box subscription! I can see myself ordering this! Thanks for sharing!
