December 2016 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome Review
The Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome is a fun gender-neutral subscription box from That Daily Deal. Each box is filled with a variety of random practical and silly items at an extreme value. Boxes vary greatly month to month. Every month ThatDailyDeal.com does a promotion where one (or more) people receive SUPER boxes that include a high-ticket item. (Previous super boxes included an inflatable hot tub, a hoverboard, a 70″ curved TV, years worth of bacon, a 3D printer, etc.) This is a playful box (that is not meant to be taken too seriously) with a high retail value and a low price of only $24.99 per month.
*Option to upgrade your box for an additional $9.99 per month!

December 2016 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome
Cost: $24.99 per month
The December Mystery Box of Awesome shipped late to my house (but definitely not this late), arriving within the first few days of January. Either way, I was happy to see this jumbo box and hoped I would get some really useful items this month!
First peek!
Each month, a select number of subscribers are randomly chosen to receive an extra cool item inside their Mystery Box of Awesome! This month, 9 people received a Philips Sunrise Simulation Alarm Clock. My Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome also included a fun scratch-off coupon code sheet for extra chances to win stuff while shopping at 13Deals.com.
Adirondack Socks (Size 10-13) | $5.00?
I believe this is a pair of men’s socks, sized 10-13. The socks are made with a soft wool blend and would be perfect for wearing with hiking boots! I’ll be giving these to my dad since Jonathan pretty much only wears dress socks.
Energizer Max C Batteries (4 Pack) | $11.37
Nice! I am so stoked about these Energizer batteries! You see, I bought Jonathan an Original Kit-Kat clock for Christmas and completely forgot to pick up C batteries (the clock requires two). Now we can take the clock out of the box and actually use it!
PEZ Hedz Soft Candy Chews (5 oz) | $2.50
I have never heard of PEZ Hedz before but knew that Little G would be obsessed as soon as he saw them in the box… and I was not wrong. These are fairly large chewy candies that are very sweet and have the texture of circus peanuts. The bear heads come in three different flavors: grape (purple), peach (orange), and cherry (white). The little ears are adorable!!
Eternal 14 pc Portion Control Container Set | $8.65
This set of portion control containers is perfect for packing meals on-the-go! I have wanted to grab a set for years, ever since I started doing BeachBody workouts. (Insanity is literally insane, by the way…) I love the different colors and all of the plastic containers are sturdy with lids that actually seal. These will also work great for Little G’s snacks while we are out and about.
Remington iGrinder Whole Bean Coffee Grinder | $16.53
I already have an excellent grinder at the house, but it’s good to have a back-up in the house just in case. Nobody wants to see me without coffee. NOBODY. The Remington grinder even includes a little plastic coffee grounds brush, which is brilliant and works much better than using my index finger to get the extra grounds out of the grinder. Yes, I get every last particle of coffee out of my grinder each and every morning because it’s COFFEE.
Ideas in Motion Battery Operated Heated Scarf | $19.99
Um………… I have no idea what to think of this invention. I probably don’t live in an area that gets cold enough to find this terribly useful, but I suppose I would welcome a built-in heating element inside my scarf if I experienced 40mph winds and a -20 degree wind chill.
Since it will most likely never get cold enough here to use this heated fleece scarf, we will most likely incorporate this into a future giveaway, so Minnesotans and North Dakotans rejoice! 🙂
Final Thoughts
The December 2016 Monthly Mystery Box of Awesome was a fantastic box for me! I was pleased to see so many useful items, especially the batteries and food containers. My total estimated retail value = $64.04 which is WAY higher than the box cost of $24.99. You definitely get the most bang for your buck with this subscription box!
