October 2015 Monthly Subscription Box
This month’s box seemed a little light for Citrus Lane, but that didn’t stop Little G from grabbing absolutely everything out of the box (including the little crinkle things) before I was able to get a good picture!
All of the items are detailed on a full-color card and often include discount codes for each of the companies featured in the box.
Cloud-b Dreamz to go Octo (Bluee) – Value: $19.95
Cloud-b offers several fun animal-style night lights, all of which illuminate the ceiling like the night sky. This cute little octopus lights up in red, blue and white light. Since Little G already has the Cloud-b Twilight Ladybug, given to him as a gift about a year ago, I am going to tuck this guy away in our gift closet.
MudPuppy Pouch Puzzle (Construction) – Value: $10.99
This is the perfect beginner puzzle for 2-year olds! The pieces are large and very sturdy. Because there are only 12 pieces, Little G was able to figure out where each piece should go, but was still challenged (in a good way!) with learning how to rotate each piece to fit correctly. With a little help from mommy, he was able to put the whole puzzle together in about 10 minutes! He even enjoyed taking the puzzle apart and then carefully counted and placed each piece back in the pouch. This is a wonderful, well-made puzzle that Little G adores. I am considering using Citrus Lane’s 30% off coupon to pick up another puzzle!
Stephen Joseph Toddler Socks (Dino) – Value: $3.90
I LOVE socks. (I inherited this passion from my mom.) Little G has an entire drawer devoted to socks, so I was really happy to find a pair in this month’s box! The colors are really bright and the dinosaurs are perfect for my little guy. Stephen Joseph is a quality brand and all of their knitted toddler socks have no-skid rubber grips on the bottom. The pair we received are size 4T (Large), so it is going to be a while before he can wear them, unfortunately.
Mrs. Meyer’s Basil Dish Soap 2 oz. – Value: $0.50
I have received this dish soap sample from previous Citrus Lane boxes, but still enjoy having a stash of “travel” dish soaps to take with us on vacation. Mrs. Meyer’s CLEAN DAY product line is one of my favorites, especially the candles, and I really like the basil scent! This sample came with a $1.00 off coupon that doesn’t expire until 12/31/15, so that gives me plenty of time to find an in-store sale and use this coupon!
Citrus Lane also included a promotion for Groovebook, but it isn’t something we would use.
October 2015 Monthly Subscription Box Total Value: $35.34
(not including special promotions listed on card or $1.00 off coupon)
Bonus Mystery Box!
Everything in this box was a huge win for our little guy. He was so excited, it took me about 5 minutes to snap this picture without Little G’s grabby hands getting in the way!
eco-kids eco-dough (orange & green) – Value: $8.00
Eco-kids is a family-run company that produces all-natural art supplies for children. We purchased the eco-crayons for Little G last Christmas, but found they were a little too waxy and lacked the bold pigment that he likes. When Little G saw the cups of eco-dough in the box, however, he could hardly contain himself! Together we practiced self-restraint so I could take this one picture before he ripped open the lids and played. The dough is really soft, has beautiful natural coloring and a very pleasant smell. This product far surpasses any other I’ve purchased and I am already putting the full set on Little G’s Christmas wish list!
Goodbyn Snacks (Green) – Value: $4.00
This is a great snack container to take on-the-go! The compartments are wide and deep enough to fit crackers and cookies and the lid snaps firmly shut. We had to convince Little G that this isn’t a “beach” toy to take outside to his sand table, but I’m sure he is onto something there as well!
Green Toys Tugboat – Value: $14.99
Little G hit the motherload with this bath toy. We have almost purchased it at least a half dozen times over the course of his life, but always talked ourselves out of it. It took several minutes of serious toddler distraction in order to capture a (clear) picture the boat without blurry hands reaching for it. Green Toys is one of my favorite toy companies by far. All of the toys are made in the USA from 100% recycled milk containers. The plastic is smooth to the touch and all of the designs are eye-catching and fun! This tugboat floats great and has a spout at the bow, which is perfect since Little G is obsessed with scooping and pouring water.
Bonus Mystery Box Total Value: $26.99
Our Thoughts
The monthly subscription box felt a little strange to me this month due to containing a night light that seemed too young and socks that were definitely too big for a 2-year old. The value also felt surprisingly low for Citrus Lane, but since we received a bonus box, we ended up being extremely satisfied with this month’s haul!
Due to the special promotion*, we received a total value of $62.33 worth of pretty darn great toddler fun for only $20.96.
Little G’s favorite items are the pouch puzzle and the tugboat, followed closely by the eco-dough! If you’re not already a subscriber, I highly recommend grabbing one of Citrus Lane’s many awesome promotions and checking them out.
Let us know what you think! What did you get in your October box?

*Without the promotion, a normal month-to-month subscription is $29.95.
That would make a great present for my friend’s grandson.
I like the puzzle and the socks (I have too many socks myself)
