Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake Recipe
Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake
We’re all familiar with Tasty.co, right? This Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake is one of their easy and delicious cake recipes, falling into that “wish I had thought of this” category. No need to spend all day working on a complex concoction unless you are feeling energetic and adventuresome. Most days I just want to eat. If someone else would fix it for me, that would be fine too. Since that mystery cook hasn’t shown up in my kitchen, I’ll keep looking for more great recipes to share!
Note – this cake has to chill for 4 hours to be served at its best. Start the recipe early in the day or the day before.
This dessert all starts with a box of white cake mix. Prepare the cake and bake in a 9 X 13″ pan using the directions on the box, then let the cake cool. Poke 24 holes (more is better) in the cake using the end of a wooden spoon or something equivalent. Since I don’t have a wooden spoon, I used the end of one of my spatulas.
Make the milky brown sugar cinnamon mixture according to the recipe directions. Pour this buttery mixture over top of your cake, making sure it seeps down into the holes you made.
Spread whipped topping over the cake and then chill for 4 hours.
The cake turned out looking so impressive but was actually deceptively easy to make.
Serve and enjoy!
