Bojerky Subscription Box Review December 2015
Bojerky is a monthly subscription box that has craft jerky from all around the US. This is my first box of Bojerky meats. The website calls their meats beef jerky and that is what I received but I did read reviews from earlier this year that other kinds of jerky, such as salmon, were sent. Possibly they only do beef jerky now. They have free shipping in the USA and several different price tiers, all of which have discounts for multiple month subscriptions. The cost runs:
$9.99/mo for one package of beef jerky (different flavors each month), weighing 2.5 to 5 oz.
$21.00/month for at least 2 packages of beef jerky (different flavors each month), weighing 5 to 7.5 oz.
$37.00/mo for at least 4 packages of beef jerky (different flavors each month), weighing 10 to 15 oz.
I received 2 packages of jerky in the December 2015 box.The total weight was 5 oz. There was no information sheet about the products or background information given about the makers of the jerky.
Dave’s Smoked Meat and Nuts Smoked Beef Strips with Ghost Pepper
I’m not sure what a ghost pepper is but I found out that they must be HOT! I was afraid I would not be able to taste this package of jerky as I have a really bad head cold, but not to worry – this stuff was so hot I could barely eat a piece without running for a glass of water and a cracker. Unfortunately it is the larger 3 oz. package. I don’t think I have ever had beef jerky so hot. And I won’t be able to eat it.
Dried and True All Natural Artisan Beef Jerky in Chile Limon
This has information on the brand on the back of the package. It is quite tasty – a little sweet/savory with a bit of a snap in the aftertaste, but very enjoyable and I had a hard time eating just a few pieces as I could have nibbled my way through the whole bag!
So I have to write a bit of a mixed review on my Bojerky box. The Chile Limon jerky was very, very good but the Ghost Pepper jerky was ghastly. My husband couldn’t even finish the one piece I asked him to try. If they had asked my preference, I would have said that I preferred my jerky any way but fiery hot. It is an expensive bag of meat to have to put in the trash. And that makes the remaining 2 oz. bag incredibly expensive. Also there was no information sheet included and it would have been nice to have one.
Have you tried Bojerky? This could have just been an off month for them. I would be more tempted to order from them again if I had some input about the products they sent me.

I hate stuff that’s too spicy to handle!! I mean whats the point in it if it burns your taste buds off?? I wish you could choose a non spicy box!! That would be a great thing to have for the future!
