Bespoke Post Subscription Box Review – A Monthly Box for Men
Bespoke Post is a monthly subscription box designed for men. This was our first Bespoke “Box of Awesome” and we had a fun time looking at all the varied and interesting lifestyle choice boxes available. Plus you can also choose from any remaining prior months boxes! The cost is $45 per month, but the guaranteed value of each box is at least $70. I like that you can view the box contents of each themed box to make your choice, no surprises here. And as long as you notify them during the first 5 days of the month you can skip any month without being charged.
We chose the Homefront theme for our introduction to Bespoke Post. This was not an easy choice as just about all of the options were excellent!
Trapper Knife, Heritage Walnut 4 1/8” Two Blade $53.99
The Walnut Trapper Knife is nothing short of a classic. The style has been in use since at least the 1920s, and was originally created for field dressing but works just as well around the house. The walnut handle with nickel silver bolsters lends a slim and sturdy grip, while each of the 3 ⅞ inch stainless steel blades offer a strong and low-maintenance cutting edge. The slimmer clip blade is made for fine detail work and piercing, while the sturdier spey blade is a heavy hitter for tougher cuts.
Bear & Son is one of the few knife makers that stayed true to the original design of the trapper blades, only adding modern updates to the handles. They’re made from scratch, start to finish, in the company’s Alabama headquarters.
Classic Lighter, Street Chrome $14.95
Flip open a piece of history. The original Zippo was an engineering breakthrough when it first debuted 80 years ago, and has been virtually unchanged since. During WWII, Zippo dedicated their entire production to the military, and the lighters have been a standby for American soldiers and everyday guys alike ever since.
The flame guard protects against the wind, the iconic flip top is oddly satisfying to operate, and the sturdy metal body and replaceable flint mean it’ll last for ages. Each lighter is so sleek, well-crafted, and history-rich that they’ve become a usable collector’s item. When you’re ready to use it, just add lighter fluid (you can pick it up at most gas stations and convenient stores) and you’ll be sparking up in no time.
P-38 Can Opener
This little piece of metal can do more than your Swiss Army knife. It was originally issued to American GIs during WWII as a way to open their rations, and was a key piece of a soldier’s gear for most of the 20th century until the military switched from cans to packaged MREs. Though only intentionally created to open up a day’s lunch, it’s become a cult favorite for its compact size and endless versatility. In addition to opening cans, you can strip wires, tighten screws, remove splinters, and way, way more – there are dozens of uses for everyday tasks. Add it to your keychain and see for yourself.
The value of our first box met the guaranteed price and we are most pleased with the contents. The knife is a jewel and the lighter, as they said, a classic. And the P-38 is for me, as my husband already has one on his keychain! Can’t wait to see what choices we have for next month!
