Road Trip
The back side of the product information sheet has a delicious sounding and really easy recipe for Smoky Slow Cooked Beef Tacos using the LaTortilla products in this month’s box.
La Tortilla Factory – (8) White Corn & Wheat Tortillas ($3.19)
These are Handmade Style tortillas that contain no bad fats and are made with non-GMO ingredients.
La Tortilla Factory – Cocina Fresca Barbacoa Slow Cooker Sauce Starter ($3.99)
This is a gluten-free slow cooker sauce starter that is a blend of smoky chipotle, Mexican herbs and a hint of lime. All you have to add is beef and water, cook for 8 hours, and serve with your favorite condiments. They have several other varieties of Mexican flavored mixes to choose from.
Country Archer Jerky Co. – Mango Habanero Beef Jerky 1.5 oz ($2.99)
This is jerky made with grass fed beef mixed with organic ingredients. I was concerned that it might be too spicy but was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed every bite! Mango Habanero has a sweet/spicy taste that you would expect but does not make the hair follicles on your head stand on end!
Goya – Plantain Chips 5 oz ($1.99)
I love plantain chips and Goya makes some great tasting ones! These chips are lightly salted and crunchy – once you open the bag you can’t stop eating them!
Angie’s Boomchicapop – Cheddar Cheese Popcorn & Real Butter Popcorn .75 oz each ($1.50 for 2)
Boomchicapop popcorn is gluten-free and made with non-GMO corn. All of the ingredients in each bag are real, not chemicals, so you can eat it and serve it to your family with confidence. Plus it tastes great! Both of our bags were gone in one sitting!
Popchips – (2) Nutter Puffs snacks 1 oz each ($1.49 each)
These crunchy puffed snacks are made with real peanut butter. And you could dip them in jelly for an even more exotic taste! Gluten-free, non-GMO, and vegan.
Fini Sweets – Tornadoes Fizzy Chewy Candy 2.5 oz ($1.09)
These candies are soft and chewy with a bit of fizz.
Fini Sweets – Fini Shock Tongues Chewy Candy 2.5 oz ($1.09)
These are flat candy sour belts. Each bag contains 6 different flavors.
Fini Sweets – Mini Kollisions Chewy Candy 2.5 oz ($1.09)
These are sweet & sour licorice bites with an inner filling. They were colorful candies with a variety of flavors.
Torie & Howard – Chewie Fruities 1.27 oz ($1.99)
These organic candy chews contain pomegranate & nectarine, Meyer lemon & raspberry, and blood orange& honey. Each little bag contains 100% of your daily vitamin C requirement. My husband and Little G both LOVE these!
Amazin’ Raisin – 1 Lemon & 1 Strawberry 1.3 oz each ($1.99 for 2)
These are raisins infused with natural fruit flavors added so that their taste is different. The lemon flavor is sour and the strawberry flavor is…strawberry! They contain no added sugars.
Zeigler’s – Mango Citrus Carrot Fruit & Veggie Fruit Blend 33.8 oz (3.99)
This is a from-concentrate juice blend to help you start the day with a good dose of vitamin C.

This 25% juice drink has blueberry juice, cranberry juice, red grape juice, and mulberry juice added to the aloe vera juice. Sweetened with cane sugar, it contains no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors. Made from real aloe vera juice & pulp – never from powder.
The retail value of the grocery products in the April 2018 Degustabox came to $29.87. This month it had a “road trip” theme and most of the food was indeed something you might take along with you to munch on during your journey!
