Aldi 2018 Cheese Advent Calendar Review
Aldi 2018 Cheese Advent Calendar
So many of the Advent calendars we found this year were specific to certain categories – candy, toys, beauty, paper goods. We wanted to review a calendar that would appeal to almost everyone – so why not a cheese calendar? Target had a highly publicized cheese Advent calendar this year but not in any stores in our area (Super Target stores only), so we were pleased to be able to snag a $13 Aldi 2018 Cheese Advent Calendar the day they became available.
The Aldi 2018 Cheese Advent calendar contained “24 Festive Imported Mini Cheeses.” Each cheese was a .71 oz cube in shrink-wrapped plastic, hidden behind the door for that day. We received 6 pieces of Edam, 5 pieces of Havarti, 5 pieces of Red Leicester, 4 pieces of white cheddar, and 4 pieces of Gouda Matured. All of the cheeses were products of the UK, Holland, and Denmark and were pure cheeses without preservatives or artificial ingredients.
The cheeses were a uniform shape and, except for the Red Leicester, a fairly uniform off-white color. They were tasty but not exciting or festive. And the box had to be kept refrigerated so we could not leave it out on the shelf as a part of our Holiday decor.
The Aldi 2018 Cheese Advent Calendar was reasonably priced and a pleasant departure from the other calendars we reviewed. There are people for whom a cheese Advent calendar would be the perfect gift, but I can see this one only as a supplemental calendar for us. The box is attractive and the cheese is good, but otherwise it lacks the zest and fun of this year’s other calendars. But all is not in vain – our little cheeses will make a tasty plate of (unwrapped) nibbles with crackers for the family on Christmas day!
What a great idea for a cheese lover!
This is such a fun and clever idea. I would love one of these. A great option for the kids to have something other than candy
I was at Aldis the day after the calendars were released -but no calendars. So disappointed. I think that this would have been a goody.
These are nice, and who doesn’t want to count down with a treat, I love trying new cheeses to.

I love the idea of a cheese advent calendar. I saw this in my ad but the day I went they were sold out.
I love this advent calendar. What a great way to celebrate the holidays and try different cheeses.
I haven’t heard of a cheese Advent calendar before but I would like to try this.
What a nice idea! I haven’t heard of one of these before!
This Aldi Cheese Advent Calendar is such a great idea! I would enjoy receiving this for a fun and tasty gift.
