Isn’t this exciting! We have actually started our blog and I am writing my first post! So welcome, readers, to our new blog and I hope you come back often to see what we have been up to. I plan to keep you hungry with recipes both old and new, pique your interest in destinations you didn’t know you wanted to visit and inform you about new products I have tried. You will get to know my family and pets. You will live through my successes and failures in the garden and see our old Craftsman house as it evolves through our slow but continual refurbishing. So in actuality I am inviting you into my world and putting out the welcome mat right this minute!

You probably don’t want to read about just any old stranger so let me introduce myself. I am Joanne, the mom of this mom and daughter team.  I spent over 30 years as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and RN, working mostly in the Emergency Department.  I tell you this not because I plan to give any medical advice but because when a person has spent most of their adult life in their profession it becomes an integral part of who they are. My husband and I have a family of grown kids and have been blessed with 3 grands so far. We travel a LOT in our RV and have homes in NC and FL, so we could be anywhere at any time. You just never know!  We also do a lot of cruises so I can always tell you about that experience. I love to cook and sew (never enough time for that!) and to try out new products.  Add 5 cats and 2 border collies and that’s me in a nutshell!
